Seriously i dont understand why all the american site players are always defending themselves. Americans sites like bovada are 7 years behind other sites. It's really easy. 1k plays like 100nl. It's not hard for the rest of the world to watch streams and see a bunch of 27/11 regs at 1k and tons of whale.

Your 400 games play like 25nl. Deal with it jesus.
How exactly am i defending myself? Wasn't aware that it was even necessary. Quit being such tool bro. I'd take regulated mainstream sites any day over offshore sites we have to play on in the usa.

Sustaining $50 an hour at 25nl over a large sample? LOL yeah okay, you keep that delusion up. You're so valiant.

You ever heard of - the grass is greener on the other side of the fence -? 1k plays like 100nl? 7 years behind? LOL

You're making assumptions and that's about it. Guaranteed you have zero data over a sample size worth a darn to back up any of the claims you're making about bovada or any american site for that matter.

Keep on chasing rainbows...

I'm not complaining about the VIP system. I enjoy it and i hope it makes you jealous. I still even get rakeback on bovada.

Sounds like you spend a lot of time mirrin usa sites via streams. Sick life, bro.

No actually it's not. 2bb is not anywhere good enough to be a coach. You do realize that the swings associated with a 2bb winrate are going to be very large and that you can't even be sure your a winner with a 2bb winrate over 500k hands? Granted if your a loser your not going to be a big one but it's not clear you are a winner with that sample size and winrate either

Perhaps I might draw your attention to 2 of the many PC&G Threads and Poker Blogs that I follow, these guys are crushing the games and what I would expect of a coach. (They don't coach, BIG SURPRISE HUH?)

Example A)

8bb/100 on Stars in today's games over 600k hands at 100/200 and an 8bb/100 winrate at Zoom 500/200 60k hands

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...&postcount=476

Example B)

5.2bb/100 @ Zoom 500 over 425k hands at his last update. Updtaed a few months later and although he did not provide an exact bb/100 his graph just keeps going up at the same angle

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...&postcount=481

Would you like more examples are are you guys just willing to settle for mediocrity in a coach?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not berating these guys because of their winrates, I'm berating them because they choose to COACH with the winrates they have and fool people into thinking that these winrates are good

Jesus i just explained that i stake someone in those games, how do you conclude that i dont know the games and expect the grass to be greener elsewhere? I see the games daily.

And again explain to me how 3bb at 25nl is not sustainable? 3bb and rakeback and euros is all you need to get 50$ an hour.

Again if you werent so hung up on making yourself believe that your games are as hard as everywhere you'D click my name and see i have been playing for many years and the hourly was over 125k hand running under ev and playing terrible while mass tabling

He is winning yes, but if a 2bb winner at SSNL is the definition of "strict coach selection" at RIO, then the rest of us are f**ed and poker is dead. How many of you would pay for coaching from a 2bb winner/100?

Not knocking on the guy at all but when I realized this I just cancelled my RIO subscription as I have no idea how good/bad the other coaches are.
I guess I feel kind of obligated to reply to this. I would like to think I make a fairly good example of the idea that you don't need to be a crusher to make good content videos.

I will happily admit that I'm not the strongest 6 max cash player. I'm generally very weak at the adjustment/exploitation side of things and I make a lot of sloppy mistakes. That's why I don't make live play videos. But I would argue pretty strongly that the videos I've made for RIO are very useful for small stakes players, especially those that have gotten to where they are playing mostly exploitatively.

If you've watched my videos and don't feel they're useful, I'd appreciate your specific feedback. I make videos because I enjoy teaching more than I enjoy playing; not everything is just an EV calculation to make the most $.

1) why would american sites be 7 years behind? black friday was 2011, which is much less than 7 years ago

2) lol $50 hourly at nl25. are you 10-tabling with 25bb/100 or something? mbn

''And again explain to me how 3bb at 25nl is not sustainable? 3bb and rakeback and euros is all you need to get 50$ an hour.''

can you explain this?

OK so first off, I don't want to make this a personal attack about you as it's not and I never meant it to be. My entire semi-rant was aimed at coaching sites, specifically RIO and not at any particular coach.

I have nothing negative or positive to say about you or the content you have made for RIO so I have no feed back to offer. All that I have watched from your content is about 15 minutes of some random video (and nothing memorable good or bad comes to mind), then I started reading your blog and then I lost all interest in following you or watching your videos when I realized that you were a 1-2bb winner at Small stakes.

This entire vetting process of coaches is questionable at best when coaches refuse to publish winrates and hide in the shadows. When sites like RIO claim they have a strict screening process when hiring coaches we have to rely on nothing but their word that they are in fact screening coaches very thoroughly.

I applaud you you that you freely publish your winrates and screen names, it's actually quite refreshing and a nice positive change to see.

To be brutally honest, I was pretty dismayed at the fact that a coach on RIO had a winrate as small as 1-2bb and it made me wonder and question other coaches winrates on the site. There are many examples of people using Russian PTR to search coaches winrates to find out that they are not that spectacular.

It makes me question exactly what is the criteria to be a coach on RIO? And IMO the strict vetting process that they claim they have, really isn't as strict as one would believe.

If a 1-2bb winrate at SSNL is "learning from the best" then the rest of us poker players are F*****

Yes, but this is irrelevant when very very few players win at above 3bb at 200z (not sure about iddqd but I don't think any win at above 5bb). If you're looking to only employ people who are almost certainly winners you won't have any coaches above 50NL because you can't reach a good sample size.

watched a bit of aj fenix stream just now, and i have to say i was surprised by how bad he is. was expecting him to be a solid nl100 grinder from comments in this thread, but his thought processes are really bad/out-dated. very much doubt he's more than a marginal winner at 100z even when sober. then again maybe 100z is just softer than i thought

I agree, although I'm talking about other sites as I haven't used rio. Winrates is like showing your CV/ qualifications. Should be posted for all to see, just like every other occupation.

TheFunBegins, fwiw I didn't take your post as a personal attack. I think it was a fairly reasonable post, I just don't agree with your premise that you can't learn anything from someone with a mediocre winrate in a relatively tough game.

I am not one of the best players at 200 zoom and have never and would never claim to be. I do think the theory videos I've made are useful to people who want to get better at 6max cash, including many who are better 6max cash players than I am.

I would happily break down any specific spot you'd like with relevant "up-to-date" thought process, perhaps my thought process might sound outdated when we are dealing with certain filthy 100z nits that force me to play in a very static way, against whom I do think I make better decisions than most regs would. This doesn't change over time. When ranges are specific enough, there often isn't much counterplay. Thought process might not be optimal 2litres of Becks in, but I'm not sure it was that far off. I don't know what part you caught. I regularly discuss hands with people that crush relevant present-day games, and I may not be speaking through everything 100% of the time because of dancing/singing/nikeclapping/etc, but if there is anything specific, I'd love to hear it. Making these random "shots fired" posts doesn't do much.

I see you punting off 12 buyins at 5/10 in a day on UNIBET, maybe your "updated" thought process isn't actually good? I would certainly approach your games much differently, the players play much differently and I'm aware of range discrepancies, you also run into players that play VERY straightforwardly at the stakes I'm streaming and ranges are VERY static for the vast majority, with a trend towards "not enough bluffs" in the vast majority of spots. This leads to many 2009-esque spots. Something may come off as wrong to you, but it may be optimal in the games we are playing. There are folds I make that may seem absurd vs pretty much anyone in your player pool, and are 100% standard vs the opponents I am facing here. I would argue my case for absolutely any spot you witnessed, and if I'm wrong, so be it, but I'd say I'm likely right much more often than you would be : )

I don't know if you're qualified to make the assessment you made, but in case you are, I'd love to know more! I also doubt you'd have a higher winrate in these games. Anyway, you're a buzzkill

Lmao, do you really think bovada 2/4 and 3/6 aren't WAY softer than any midstakes game on Stars? I've played on both and know plenty of people playing both, and this is so far from close that I can't believe I wasted time typing out a reply to you. Regs still have 12bb/100 winrates on 3/6 6m @ Bovada. There are still tables with MULTIPLE superepic whales that don't exist anywhere else. I don't care if people know this, go grind all ye faithful. You're either delusional or clueless. I have to get better at this.

winning at 2bbs over hundreds of thousands of hands at 100+ zoom is definitely good enough to coach imO

Nice results, but that is the exception. You can check the russian PTR for big zoom winners.. certainly not 100% accurate but gives you a picture.
60k hands zoom is nothing.. all the other stats are normal tables.. Even Otb "only" managed to get 6bb at 500 zoom
Yes like i said goodluck finding a player that is willing to coach who beats zoom with 4bb+. There are less than 5 players with that winrate in the 500 zoom pool i guess.

Re: AJfenix winner? and/or other runt it once coaches?

watched his stream out of curiosity last night.

all i can say is that i enjoyed it very much and there are lots of things to learn (even though it's NL. "EAT SLEEP PLO" imo )

AJ, quick question, you opened a hand on the btn (KTs i think or something similar) and the sb 3b. you said it was a very good light 4b spot because he 3b frequently. but then the bb decided to flat, who was on the nittier side, so his range was definitely stronger in that spot and thus decided to fold (but still watched the hand play out). from my pov, having these reads, doesn't the bb flat make it an even better to 4b light in that spot ? or you think you're getting 5b-shoved by the bb too high % of the time to make it profitable ?
