i always felt like there was something wrong with this AUFA tournament.

My $0.02...if someone follows me into the bathroom after I've politely told them I need to speak with my pregnant wife and then someone else calls me a a prick and a stiff (which I am not, nor would I assume Adam to be), then I'm going to take every penny that was going to go to AUFA and send it to other charities and also send letters to the event coordinators letting them know why.

But there's more than this that's wrong with this tournament. It's always struck me as bizarre.

Can't believe that the WSOP is still hosting this scam. Players should either boycott, or demand up front disclosures on it's overhead costs and beneficiaries.

I am new to the forum but over the last few days read this thread from top to bottom. The first 40 pages were interesting and good for a few laughs. The news of Hope passing brought me to tears. Is there any charity I can donate to in her honor? Or better yet why don't we set up a little tournament in her honor during the WSOP. We can TRULY donate the proceeds to a childrens hospital or something. If I am out of line please let me know. I know it is short notice but so many of us will be there and I am sure we can get some space in a nice poker room.

Whatever does happen my deepest condolences to the Richardson family. I will light a candle at mass this sunday for Hope Richardson.

Even if there was, I doubt it would have much of an effect. Celebrities like to be seen on camera doing things for charity and probably wouldn't care.

If the charity was publicized to be shady they'd want to stay the hell away.

"ante up for admo" at another casino imo. and lots and lots of t-shirts with photoshopped pictures of annie duke. even if it had no effect, we'd still have keepsakes.

i would NEVER donate a substantial amount of money to a charity without first knowing this information.
and i would never donate a dime to anything annie duke was involved with.

wow let me let you guys know, there is a big culture difference between africans and the rest of the world, we will follow you to the bathroom without thinking twice about it, without think its unusual, we are not shy at all and sometimes that may come off as being rude. this whole misunderstanding may boil down to simple cultural differences imo

Yes. 'Cause it's obvious there was an African in native garb working for the tournament and following players to the bathroom to hound them for a donation.

And it's common in Africa not disclose where your blood diamonds, er, donations, go, and the overhead of your palace, er, charity.

Just a misunderstanding by that native, African Annie.

I really like the concept of this charity tournament, they just need to get rid of Annie Duke and UB. Unfortunately, I believe she started this tournament.

I am officially volunteering for any smear campaign against Annie Duke and this charity. With the number of charities available these days, the bar needs to be higher with regard to their behavior. Unfortunately, I would imagine Admo wants nothing more to do with this charity.

Read through a bunch of this and my heart goes out to you and yours Adam... To the tournament itself, they ASK that you donate at least 50%... I mean, this is like having a party of 12 at a restaurant & them wanting to add gratuity no matter what which they cannot legally do. If you want to donate to another charity or none at all that is you're choice.
I can't believe that some of the things in this thread happened and they(Ante up ppl) were way out of line... Instead of boycotting the tourney (which is hugely EV), everyone should (if they want) decide on a charity that they really want to donate to & do that. Just my .02

I'm definitely in for the Ante Up for Admo tournament.

THAT is the best idea yet. If we can swamp this tourney with 2+2 players, take down the cash, and ship 50% of the funds to a charity for Africa we agree on, thats the plan man. That will surely embarrass Annie Puke.
