Pretty sure that Nevada Gaming doesn't allow charity events to take out a portion of the prize pool for the charity.

All the charity events I've played in CA have half the prize pool taken out for the charity.

Now what? The pregnancy thing was a lie, or irrelevant at best? Admo is going to hold his donation so that he can try to bribe Annie Duke to do something or other, and according to shaundeeb, he planned it all in advance?

Eh, I'm done with it, no matter how noble his plan. Hope Admo has fun splashing around in the pig slop with Annie and her kind.

Admo also made this clear from the start of the tourney and I'm sure also told his table mates of his plan with regards to giving the money to charity.

Also, the fact that this became public this quickly looks bad for every charity event in the future where people will prob elect to not play in an event if immediately if they don't give as much as people were expecting then get bashed a lot in public that's not the point of this event so why make it so negative. I hope ESPNs doesnt spin this and just shows it as an awareness for online poker more then a person trying to stiff a charity tourney which I am willing to bet any amount of $ that was not his intention at any point in the tourney.

Side note, admo prob won't be able to respond much in the next few days I think so don't take his silence as him hiddening he always has his priorities straight and I'm sure once everything is in the open the public perception will be far and away behind adam and his choices that are standing up for the players which we need more people doing.
interesting, not sure what to make of it, but i have an idea. what are the requests?

edit: i understand now. this is gonna be sick. gogogo

I assume "Hunter" had no idea who Adam Richardson was, and figured the forums would rally to Annie's side at how terrible he was to not make a donation.

It's just like all the other anonymous people who send an email or make a post on 2+2 (brainwashdodo, the guy who outed Brandon Cantu for not tipping at Bay 101 last year, etc. etc.) that want to push an agenda.

Just wanted to post in favor of Admo. Glad that many 2+2'ers already covered most of the nonsense. Congrats on getting 2nd, GL in the Main Event.

He should very publicly pledge 100% of his winnings to AUFA if Annie Duke provides the full list of superusers or quits UB if she can't. Something like that where it puts the entire burden of stiffing the charity on Annie's shoulders for a reasonable request she can't morally refuse. I'm guessing the plan is something like that, and I like it.

Headline: "Online poker player holds starving children hostage, demands Ultimate Bet release proprietary information, or the children will die."

Yeah, that'll be GREAT for our cause.

Pretty sure the next logical step is to hire ESPN cameras to fly down to africa to hand out 100k worth of rice, clothes and maybe a few twenty's here and there.

Does anyone else think that if you play a $2500+$2500 (50% rake for charity) tournament you shouldn't feel peer pressure one bit whatsoever to donate any winnings to charity? I sure as hell wouldn't because it's my ****ing decision not anyone elses, I gave $2500 to charity already.

The event isn't 2500+2500, it's 4860+140, with a suggested 50% donation of any winnings.

FFS does ANYONE have the slightest clue how bad this is going to look?

Donate the first $50K like any other normal human being, and if you then want to donate the other $50K in return for some list of superusers, that's your business. Negotiate it privately, and good luck, you'll need it. Nobody watching ESPN is going to understand the issue, or care.

Simply withholding your donation is idiotic IMO. There is virtually no way this will end up good. For anyone.

Alright, I've had my say, I'm done.

I don't think it is proper to mix the UB scandal, Annie Duke with donating to charity. I am no fan of either UB or Annie Duke but the UB scandal is and should be totally separated from this. Making some silly blackmail out of it is going to make everyone look bad.

Go after Annie and her affiliation with crooks as much and as loud as you want. But make it a separate issue.

Well it should be 2500+2500. That way they don't have to hassle people for the cash.

Nevada gaming law doesn't allow that, especially when the charity isn't giving anything to the players. Other major poker tournaments for charity give away WSOP seats and various other prizes to participants, which allows for 100% of the buyins to go towards charity.

Is this a proper summary of events??

Annie Duke, Matt Damon, and a great many other joined together to raise money for charity. Of the 18 people who were in the money, 17 donated as planned.

However, Admo announced in advance that if he won, he would become a committee of one to challenge Annie Duke and Ultimate Bet, therefore casting himself in the center of the lime light once again.

The amazing number of movie stars and poker stars that joined together are forgotten as we all wait to see what Admo wants to do. The great publicity for poker becomes a story about Admo.

Am I stating this correctly or not?

From an outside perspective I think Ante Up have acted douchey with regards to pressure and relasing bad press, I also feel this admo guy has been a little naive with his agreement and holding back of funds for his big idea. It probably seemed like a great idea when he discussed it with his friends and fellow grinders, but to the outside world it will probably come across as quite bad.

Seems like this is gonna be a no win situation for both parties involved.
