you sort of win though by getting the satisfaction of punching the guy you dont like.
but whatever, these little text message thugs should be able to confront one another in fairly private situations and settle buisness if either one was really down for something. if anything, AJ sounds like the biggest p uss since he's the aspiring nerd who wants to metamorphasize into something he's not.
this is only true in cases of a man hitting a women I would like to think. But yes, I can see the legal goals behind it, although I don't think it is enough of a worry to take an extra punch over.
I, like whoever you quoted, think its dumb to try to encourage someone to hit you. I wonder if it has something to do with overuse of the phrase "sucker punch" I have noticed the last several years.
There seems to be a trend to call suckerpunch on the first punch in a fight unless the guys circle around each other Gangs of New York style first. Is it really a stretch to get punched in the face after cursing a guy standing a foot away?
In all reality, it is because the guy is scared, not much more. I remember a fight in the sixth grade where me and this other kid circled around each other with our fists up for minutes. We were both scared. As soon as you hit the other guy, the fight starts.
After you've been in a few, you get less scared and you realize how important a good first punch is.
