Pretty sure it took 3.5 months between ftp deadline being reached and the first wave of payments to arrive via ACH. That would equal to around x-mas for ub/ap players assuming no other deadline extensions or drastic changes. But for a second go-around on a poker remission process with 4 to 5 times less petitions to manage for the GCG I do not think something like an Oct or Nov first wave of payment date is out of the question.

Best case scenario would be for the GCG to start asking for bank information in august while sending out filed petitions for approval to the DOJ prior to the Sept 7 date but not sure how likely that is at this point.

I'm hoping it's just because the US gov't or GCC is actually doing the right thing and trying to get as many people their money back as possible but only time will tell.
They probably get paid by the claim.

Anyone who continued playing there the last few years of the sites' existence should consider themselves extremely, extremely lucky if they see any portion of their money again - waiting several more months is nothing.

I hate to admit this but some of us hadn't played there for sev years. Instead we (foolishly) left large balances sitting on the site for other reasons.

However, I am not sweating it because I wrote that money off long ago - despite it being a considerable sum.

Well, a lot of the players were playing on the big 3 networks on 4/15/11

Am I lucky? Yup. But not much luckier than getting my FT money.

I knew the risk of AP/UB but they had just been too good to me in the past not to play there. I made most of my money on AP and they were always reaching out to me to giving me bonuses, higher rb, 9%interest on balance, free 100k entries, 8k comped tournament in Aruba, special support phone numbers, hookers (i refused, not a prostitute type of guy but ty!), weed (i didn't refuse), beers, laughs etc.

They would always invite to fly me out to Costa Rica. I only went twice but both were crazy. First time I actually hung out with Scott Tom at a bar although there were body guards of his very close by. He was pretty cool and kinda ripped. Hot wife but off to the side dancing with her friends. It was weird tho because he knew my screen name and then super-used me later for 5k @ huhu flh. AP refunded the money and called to apologize and offered to fly me out to costa rica for another party.

This was halloween and now I had a body guard in this club we were at. I took some extra curriculars and needed some water and nearly passed out. But the body guard caught me. Now I knew why he was there. This time they set me up in a phat hotel much better than the last. They were worried and blamed the super-using on another guy named Russ. White lie I guess.

I forgave them a long time ago. They were over-leveraged just like FT and the writing was on the wall, but it's so easy to see the writing on the wall after the fact.

I even forgive Scott. He sucks at poker but I got my money back and think of how much I made on AP compared to my refund I'm getting back? Also, think about his legal nightmare and how many people think he's a bad person. Subtract the US intervention and he coulda scaled down rewards and turned the balance sheets in a positive direction. It's not like he had to pay Fergusen 8 figures a year.

Obviously, I forgive Maynor and his whole crew of friends who I partied with.

Playing AP was happiest times of my poker career. Things will never ever be that good.

Sorry I just watched "story of online poker" on hulu and felt need to share

That's my cool 6 years or so.

Canadian here. A friend of mine who had no idea about this thread/the entire UB remission at all, got a letter in the mail about it. So they are definitely reaching out to players, even here in Canada.

It's good to here this but I don't understand why the GCG doesn't just tell us why there was a delay. They replied a few days later with a boilerplate "check back in 3-4 weeks" for an update.

They updated the website today. They are starting to review petitions.

GCG has been informed that the Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section of the Department of Justice (MLARS) has approved a first round of payments to Petitioners who confirmed their Absolute Poker / Ultimate Bet account balances prior to the initial June 9, 2017 filing deadline. The distribution will include payments to approximately 7,400 Petitioners with awards totaling almost $33.5 million.

Payments will be made via electronic ACH to Petitioners residing in the United States and via foreign currency check to Petitioners residing outside of the United States. In cases where a foreign currency check cannot be issued, the payment will be made via USD check or foreign currency wire depending on the Petitioners country of residence.

Within the next few weeks, GCG will be sending an email notice to all approved Petitioners that contains the amount and method of their payment. For Petitioners scheduled to receive their payment via electronic ACH or foreign currency wire, the email notice will also include instructions for submitting the required banking information needed for payment.

GCG will also be sending an email notice to certain Petitioners who were approved for payment and were identified as having a delinquent debt qualifying for collection through the Treasury Offset Program. Payments for these Petitioners will be reduced in order to satisfy their debt in part or in whole. To receive the balance of their payment, Petitioners must provide GCG with the information required to complete a Unified Financial Management System Vendor Request Form. Instructions on how to provide this information will be included in the email notice.

Specific questions regarding outstanding debts and offset amounts cannot be addressed by the Department of Justice or GCG. To obtain information on your individual debt, you must contact the Treasury Offset Program at (800) 304-3107 or visit https://fiscal.treasury.gov/fsservic...p/debt_top.htm for additional information.

Petitioners should continue to check this website for updates regarding the payment process and this administration.

I have student loans, but they are in deferment, does anyone know if this means the Treasury offset Program can take my AP recovery money to reduce my student loan debt? Or if a credit card debt awarded to the credit card company in court, can be screw me out of my AP money???

If you are not delinquent on the student loan payments, you are not subject to the Treasury Offset Program. You can call them to double-check: 800-304-3107 .

Credit card debt has nothing to do with the Treasury Offset Program, only debt owed to the Federal Government.

I found out what the "one item" was that they have me for in the "Treasury offset Program"

It turns out, someone with a different name and address used my social security number to take out a FEMA loan that is in default. I would never have know this had I not called the Treasury number. I urge everyone to do so. Looks like I have a bunch of forms to verify my identity, as of now until this dispute is resolved, FEMA and the Treasury are keeping my AB settlement.

The loan was taken out around the same time I had a car stolen too.

Unbelievable I wait 7 years, for this, and now who knows how long for the Treasury and FEMA to reimburse/ and also remove any marks from my credit.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
