I think the reason I didn't initially get an email is because on Black Friday I changed my address to a non-USA address in a panic.

Good luck everyone!
Same exact thing here aside from me changing to a non US address after BF.

In regards to the address change I took it to mean if you needed to change one of the uneditable fields (i.e. Name) then you needed to e-mail for a change.

That being said I took a screenshot of the form with my old address before changing it to my current one and submitting it.

I don't see how changing it could affect you getting paid but then again I also couldn't see ever getting this money back.

Good luck to all those involved, look forward to seeing updates once checks start getting mailed out.

And to TheHip41.................... SMD!

I have no experience with the FTP paybacks being ROW, but what were the options of getting paid there? Just checks? Or also banktransfers?

Canadian player. Tried inputting screenname etc. No record found. Entered details ignoring the US ZipCode. Received an email with a petition and control number a couple days later. Used that info to submit a claim, it showed my balance and address correctly. Looks very promising.

Great seeing regs itt. Buy a Vowel.

Sry but what is a "personal number" in the netherlands? I guess its something like the SSN Social Security number in the US, but in Germany we dont have something like the Social Security number, thats why im asking.

https://www.government.nl/topics/ide...service-number

I also see indeed that Germans do not have those numbers, then i suppose u just fill in 000000000 and mail them afterwards.
Or mail them with the story and wait 3 days

My advices:

Change the online form to show your current address. (And change any of the other editable fields if needed.) Use whatever address you would want a check mailed to in case the ACH bank transfer doesn't work. Email them if you need to change the info in a non-editable field.

If you don't have a SSN (U.S. Social Security Number) or TIN (U.S. Taxpayer ID Number), fill it out with 000000000 and follow up with an email with a scan of your passport attached.

If you have a special character in your current email address that generates an error on their form, create a gmail address to use, which you can set to forward to your real email address.

Don't use the + symbol in your phone number.

Notes:

The SSN/TIN isn't for identity or tax reporting purposes. They need it to check to see if you owe the US Government any money (student loans, back taxes, etc.), which they will garnish from your remission.

If they need more info from you to process your claim, they will ask.

Remissions will start probably in 6-8 months after the deadline (could be sooner though, as this is a smaller pool of claimants than FTP). The first wave of remissions will be those that don't dispute the amount of their claim. If you dispute, the time to receive your remission could be extended by as much as a couple of years.

The U.S. government does not owe you this money. It is a remission process they are facilitating from a court settlement. The are remitting funds to you as a victim of a legal injustice. This does not trigger any payout of interest on the money. (Yes, I know the sites shut down because the U.S. government took action against them. But legally, that's neither here nor there.)

You probably left a field blank that needs to filled in.

Got an email in regards to the ACH FAQ saying:

"Thank you for contacting us. Prior to sending payments out, you will be notified and asked to provide your banking information. Please let us know if you have any other questions."

My comments on the address change are they expect you to update it. It's been 6 years. A lot of people move more frequently than once every six years. They would create way more work by denying claims based on address changes.

Also, it's the exact same process as FTP. I am sure I changed my address on that form as well.

Anyway, I'm fairly confident that we will get 100% Remission. The DOJ would be comically stupid to publish they paid out 120m out of 547m received and then not pay out the remaining for AP/UB...

Read between the lines. They have 300m+ easy. They didn't have to come out and say that.

So those who have been labeled as professional poker players, we're just screwed out of this money? They are stating I get $0 back because of this.

What does professional mean in that context? Sponsored by UB/AP?

I was told, someone who earns most of their money through poker winnings. Why are professionals excluded though, because casual players are some innocent victims? ugh

In the FAQ on the website it says that you can contest their claim that you were a professional when you fill out the petition. You can upload documents, bank statements, etc. And also they will accept a written explanation.

It might be worth a shot trying to explain to them that you played poker for a hobby but also won money at it, and that you in no way ever cheated another player or took payments from UB/AP as a "professional player". My guess is they just want to be sure that the large balances weren't tied to any illegal activity (house players).
