if tanking is not against the rules wtf are you bitching about? he just balances his tanking range so when he has a tought decision noone knows that, or if he snaps someone might think he has a bluff, basic ****ing stuff, he got to top 15 of wsop me, seems like it's working, if not that cooler he would get to the final table easily.

I like how Kassouff clearly has no idea what this version of "check your priveledge" means

and noone really straight up told him to stop asking questins, or just answered his questions, if someone asked him to not ask questions and he kept, then it would actually be unfriendly, so "against the rules" could be played on him, but they kept acting like verbal ******s and pokerfaceing and **** like that, he just kept tilting them for that.

Im wondering about 2 things:

1. Most of you say the rest of the players are crybabys who cant handle him, but you know we only see 1-2% of it all in the episodes? if the whole table is on tilt like that, they must have a reason since ive never seen something like that before. And there are personalites such as phil helmuth. Everyone of you would go insane with someone like kassouf at the table for 12 hours, its easy to say "hes funny" while looking a stream

2. I hear over and over again he doesnt break any rules (and he says it nearly 100 times during the episodes), he must be a pretty bad lawyer then?

https://www.wsop.com/2016/2016%20WSO...nt%20Rules.pdf

48. Participant or staff abuse will not be tolerated. A participant will incur a penalty up to and including disqualification for any abuse
towards another participant or staff member, and the participant could be asked to leave the property. Repeated etiquette violations,
including, but not limited to, touching another participant’s cards or chips, body, or clothing, delay of game and excessive chatter will result in penalties.

He thinks he has the right to tank 1-2 minutes every hand even with 92off utg and this is in fact wrong.

Interesting mix.

I wouldn't expect that mix to turn out like William Kassouf though lol.

The tanking issue didn't really come across due to edits. But in terms of what he actually said to the other players he's a lot less abusive than other players in the past that have been given a lot tv time.

Tony G springs to mind

Yeah right on! It's totally working! Its similar to my friend who picked his own numbers in the lotto last week instead of getting a "lucky dip" random generated number from the machine in the store (like he usually does), and he hit 4 of the numbers!!!!!!! I don't need anymore convincing, Effing works man!!!!!!!

Oh and yeah excessive tanking has zero impact on the results of the tournament, I don't know why its taken me so long to understand these basic concepts

Yeah but Tony G says varied (and I would argue and I'm pretty sure most others would agree, more amusing) things! Whilst this guy says the same horrible I would say anti-comedic stuff over and over in the worst most monotonous tone of voice humanly possible

I found them both to be entertaining viewing tbh but im not sure if that has anything to do with whether it was verbal abuse. The content and manner of Tony G's more famous moments are worse I think. Even Hellmuths meltdowns contain worse comments about his opponents than Kassouf made, although he's very toned down these days

it's not the words that is insulting it's the badgering. like a kid in the back of a car constantly asking are we there yet. no he's not insulting anyone, and you could argue there's nothing wrong with asking a simple question, but saying it over and over and over and over is annoying, especially when the person doing the behavior knows it is.

The guy is an utter ****, his behaviour was (deliberately) obnoxious, the advantage he gained by being obnoxious was unfair to other players and he should have been muzzled on day one and DQ'd for ongoing breaches. His 9-high hand should have been declared dead. Jack Effel should be looking for a new job after this disgraceful performance.

It's a joke to say that his obnoxious nature would be ok if he'd played faster. When is it ever acceptable to be obnoxious ? His continued participation was an insult to every other paying customer and an indictment on the wsop.

You people make me laugh (not limited to the person above. every person who's posted about ben/kas).
All I meant was that they are strict here on any talking. Even heads up, the dealer or TD would interrupt him with most of what he said to his opponents. I think the rules here are far too strict.

Benger's outburst just absurdly cringeworthy. Don't think that's even debatable. And Kassouf tanking was way over the line and disrespectful to the other players. But L-O-L that he was verbally abusing Benger.

Anyway, on to my question. And I'm dead serious. What on Gods Green Earth does check your privilege mean there? If someone can give me a sincere answer it'd be really appreciated.

Figured he meant that fool played every hand like it was all about him and he was the only one playing. Sit there 5 minutes and not act then dick around saying the same thing over and over. You fold and show I show, you fold and show I show. Raising to see where you are at huh, I'll raise to see where I'm at

The chess debutes are also standard for 100 years. As soon as he got reaction his conversation changed instantly.
I think by "check your privilege" benger wanted Kassouff to stop doing what he was good at. Talking.
(but English is my second language)

I, for one, am jealous of Benger.

I wish I had lived a life so comfortable as to feel like annoying table banter with zero malice (other than redundancy) was genuine abuse.

I am also jealous that I have not found a group of friends to hang with me who are so unwilling to help me check my own privilege that I feel justified, even entitled, to preach my worldview in the thinnest of spots.

None of that is sarcasm...it must be genuinely nice to get that good of a life draw.
