He opened to 600k, then called a 4.1 M shove. How do some people get this stuff so completely wrong?

Yeah, over 4.1 M on the 89 and over 6 M on the AA vs AJ. He lost some to Josephy just before that as well.

Apparently some people would rather watch Father Josephy and his 5 nerdy disciples compliment each other on their plays and feel good about themselves.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
Conceding the entertainment value of Kassouf and condoning his behavior are two separate things.

Right so he called off 3.5 M when there was 5 M in the pot, so he was getting almost 1.5-1, and with the hands they had, his odds were just fine.
It's not like it was some blow up hand that you're making it out to be.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
I wasn't making anything out to be anything. The guy asked where his 30M went, and I spouted off the 2 hands that I could recall.
Remind me where in there I critiqued his play.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
I just had to come into this thread and say... Kassouf made this tournament worth watching. Anyone who says otherwise is just wrong.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
A few knock outs after Kassouf had busted, Jack Effel said the players could no longer call clock that it would be up to the tournament staff due to excessive stalling. So who were the stalling dbags so we can include them in our disdain for slow play?

Re: "9 high like a boss"
Stalling specifically for money bubbles is different altogether from stalling just to tilt other players. Play should have been made H4H.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
Seeing the episodes now, seems liker Kassouf is a little bit on tilt, raising EP with 92s, and calling with K5s from the CO.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
I find it ridiculous that the WSOP Main Event isn't H4H when it's down to 2 tables. Even 3 tables I think it should be.

I think after all the controversy his strategy backfired. The fact everyone was against him really got to him and it obviously affected his play. He looked pretty angry too. 3mil river bet with set of AA was super bad, 3.5mil call with 89 was bad too.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
I found it weird he turned AA into a bluff like that. Seemed like a bad spot to pick.

Yes. I think it would actually mean more hands per table on average if it stopped the stalling.
I didn't realize stalling for the purpose of levelling up was a problem (as opposed to tanking to figure out what to do in a hand).

Perhaps , just perhaps , I am overthinking this, but here it goes:
Did he do that on purpose ... to look like a good guy?
Since he stalled before he called, 'letting' his opponent level up a pay jump.
I mean, why else would he risk so much one table away from the Nov 9 on 98hh when he is certainly behind 60 - 40 if not 90 - 10?? I think he really just wanted to be liked.

Re: "9 high like a boss"

Re: "9 high like a boss"
Does Kassouf ever find a fold in that spot? It kinda seemed like he was considering a fold until Bengar's outburst. When Bengar "woke up" that was hilarious. Super silent and stoic then turns into a SJW. K on river would have been best WSOP moment of all time imo.

He had a ton of chips, it wasn't that bad of a call. With that said, he's just an avg player who ran hot to go deep, he's gonna make mistakes. Not throwing shade, but I'd think he is reasonable enough to admit that as well.
Turning AA into a bluff wasn't that bad considering the action pre, on the flop, and on the turn. Where he made the mistake, imo, was not betting the turn and then firing the river as well. It's easy to say it was a bad bluff when you can see the hole cards, but worse than say, a Td is going to have a very tough time calling even just the river bet.
In the 89hh hand it seems pretty obvious he was trying to help the kid level up as he looked back at the other table multiple times.
