Re: "9 high like a boss"

The worst part is.... Benger is by far the best player left. Praying he gets KK into AA and slow rolled to bust 9th.

U are not required to, only to have it in a visible count which he did. If he was asking me over and over what I had I wouldn't tell him either

It would have been harsh but if he's wasting people's time every hand he's destroying someone's EV etc by getting less and less hands in and that's a tactic that's again the spirit of the game.

However the amount of crying about his talking or 'speech play' is completely pathetic. The nerdy guys not shaking his hand etc and Benger pathetically doing the 'it's verbal abuse' or the 'check your privilege' was way more cringe to watch and is probably way worse for poker in the long run than someone speaking to players in hands. If they don't talk back to him that's fine but he's within his rights to keep talking.
This is it. Will comes off as a douche, but when have has anyone cried and screamed verbal abuse. What did he say that was abusive? Annoying? Hell yes. Abusive? No. The check your privilege statement just comes off as pathetic and pathetically SJW esque.

The whole PC cultural in the world these days is kinda disheartening.

Re: "9 high like a boss"

Yeah as bad as Kassouf was everyone else stooped to his level. Don't get me wrong I'm glad he is gone. If someone like him won it could very well lead to a reverse poker boom, and next year we'd be back to 2000 players in the ME.

That said, not shaking his hand, calling him an abuser, etc. is not good sportsmanship. He actually stopped a lot of his behavior and he was being quiet. In this hand he had Kings and tried to get information. I dunno man, as bad as Kassouf is, the other players still didn't manage to occupy the moral high ground.

Re: "9 high like a boss"

Jesus Christ. The check your privilege comment was not some social justice warrior thing as dreamt up by the alt-right.

His point was that even if an argument can be made that no rules were broken (which of course it can't) his own personal benifit does not supersede everyone else. He was clearly making it miserable for everyone he played with. A non-sociopath might think "hmm perhaps I am going a bit too far. Maybe I will dial it back a bit or mix in some more quick play to offset my speech play".

This is called being a decent human being.

One simple argument shows how awful he is for the game. If there was one of him at every poker table nobody on earth would want to play for fun.

So you just shake hands with anyone do you? What if its someone you despise? still shake his hand? Shaking someones hand is a gesture of respect. I will not shake hand with someone I dont respect and nor should you. I dont see how not shaking his hand is a bad thing. Guess im from different culture, but we dont shake hands with *******s over here.

LOL at this flawed way of thinking.
I'd love for this guy-ritchie-talking-fast-cockney-guy to be at my table. look at allthe informatio he gives! he bluffs and then SHOWS!!!!! c'mon. you don't like free information? gmafb

there is absolutely no excuse for GB's actions. He had THE NUTS. so what if WK was talking to him, HE HAD THE NUTS. why on earth would you berate a guy after he just walked off a cliff with KINGS deep in the ME.

guy was a jerk, plain and simple.

do you honestly think that outburst was good for poker, in ANY WAY. that little out burst and the rest of the tables actions towards WK were FAR worse for poker than ANY, YES ANY, of WK's actions prior to it.

why? because WK is a low stakes player, just like a good percentage of the players and people watching these telecasts. These other guys are seasoned pro's (even Bleznick) and they shouldn't be acting like that.

last year we got on McKeehan for acting like a burnout pothead (nothing wrong with that btw) and now we're getting on WK's case for having a little (al be it sadistic) fun at the ME by making all these people tilted. $h!t if that were me, i'd be loving all the monkey tilt i'm causing.

You're really clutching at straws here when Benger has already admitted he was wrong.

Only in the minds of crazy alt-righters does someone else being wrong make you right.

Berger being wrong or right has NO bearing on if WK is wrong or right. This is called basic rules of logic.

Josephy: "Clown, clown, clown." "This is a horrah show" "I felt I had to talk for you. We're all on the same team here."

Vayo: "I was playing with him earlier, he berated a woman to tears"

Scumbag Bleznick: "I'm losing my mind, I can't take it. This dude is like a $50 nightly grinder........I'll stake you in the $109 rebuy, I promise." "He plays like $10 tournaments."

Niwinski: "What's your name? I'm really sorry you had to go through all that."

Moss: "This is got to be going to the serial offender thing...........he's done nothing against the rules."

Give me a table full of William Kassouf's anyday over these fragile little bitches.

Kassouf IS a boss. Poker is dying. Kassouf shipping the main would of been the greatest thing to happen to poker in a decade.

If you prefer a bunch of scarf wearing silent "pros" who collectively tank and slow the table down just as much, you'll probably get it back next year. Or even better, a similar group of dbags that were featured tonight(not referring to Kassouf). GG poker

Jack Effel is the biggest clown in this episode. Like a Boss.

i agree with everything. kassouf was the best, he didnt deserve such a cooler.

lol Benger is literally the biggest tool ever. also the rest of his table mates were a bunch of douches.

all i could think of was PC principal from south park.

"Check your privilege BRAH?!""

its the ****ing WSOP main. also lol at his needling after winning the luckiest cooler ever. god benger sucks.

at least we got a bunch of soup-smelling grinders this year at another WSOP main table no one gives two ****s about. Last year no DN and no women, this year ****in boring ass nit soup grinders again.

Re: "9 high like a boss"

Does anyone know the details of the hand between Benger and Kassouf?

I'm curious how long Kassouf tanked in response to the 4bet and how long it took before Benger made the verbal abuse remarks? I am wondering if the break in silence was emotional or a last ditch effort to get Kassouf to jam.

Awesome speechplay by Benger who in my mind had this made up to do as soon as someone called the clock, definetely triggered Kassouf. I am honestly wondering if Kassouf was thinking of herofolding he seemed uncomfortable with the spot.

Re: "9 high like a boss"

eh it seemed completely opposite to me. i think kassouf thought he was ahead and was just ****ing around and using his image to get all his chips in the middle holding the 2nd nuts. kassouf is folding there about 0% of the time.

That would be a solid analogy if almost every person who drove a car were a rape apologist. I see why you get defensive about your reasoning ability!

He had just been 4 bet. They were deep. It was ship, fold, or slow play. He had plenty of reason to tank in this spot. Obviously 18 minutes is ridiculous, but this is a huge decision, with many different thought processes at work, it's not just an online 25nl game where you snap ship it and don't care.

Re: "9 high like a boss"

I wonder what abuse victims think of Benger's description of his situation?

Did any of these people ask Mr. Boss to stop talking to them? I never saw that happen.

One of the TDs said they could lower the clock to <60 secs yet no one asked them to do that. If Mr. Boss was really taking that long why didn't they ask for a more stringent clock?

On a poker note, any chance he could've picked up on the Benger's routine as being super strong and folded KK?

As far as good for poker or not, for once I am very curious how he went from 30M to 15M in twenty ESPN minutes. He seemed to be doing very well so what happened?
