some interesting statistics in the comments there.
in one 2 hour level on day 7 Kasouffs table played 26 hands vs anothers 40. Seems reasonable the others at the table were getting aggravated when playing for 8 million dollars.
|
No matter what your opinion is on his "speech play" as a thing, his stalling/tanking (more than occasionally via speech play) is more than annoying. It essentially speeds up how often the blinds increase for everyone on his table vs the other tables.
I am not sure that the table handled the situation 100% perfectly, but I do not wonder why they were so annoyed, frustrated, etc.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
Afaik he's been talking to himself all the time since no one was responding to his empty lines anyway. Obv ignoring him to speed up play wouldn't work so they spoke up against him. Tv makes it look bad but it's been said enough and perfectly fine for everyone to "gang up" against someone stoping the game for no reason.
People in here trying to make him some kind of genius for his pathetic attempt to level people and stall into the FT will see how it ends for him next episode.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
Will is not at all good for the game. His idiocy is a subspecies of tanking, which utterly kills the game for most reasonable people.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
Will is fun to watch, at least he talks. Rather have him than hoodie and headphone pros.
Yea he might take a bit longer but it's within the rules. He's pushing the boundaries but not breaking any rule. Recs would love to play against will, he's engaging and fun. He hasn't been negative or condensing. There are playing for ****ing 8million dollars, every decision is worth a lot of money.

Re: "9 high like a boss"
Will Kassouf is not fun to watch because he is not engaging with his table mates in a friendly way. Daniel Negreanu is a great example of talking that people enjoy because it is engaging and fun to the viewer and the people at the table. Will at best, is polarizing to the viewing audience.

What annoys me is that he repeats the same **** over and over. Still somehow Josephy, Vayo, etc etc manage to come across worse

Im a rec and there is nothing engaging or fun about Will to me personally, he is just annoying. While annoying can be dealt with, stalling to an extend this extreme is mind blowing

Poker isn't just about cards, Its about testing your opponent without breaking any rules. If you can tilt your opponent and make more +ev than I'll do it any day for millions. He's definitely pushing the button but has done nothing against the rule so far. I think he's fun to watch.

I think there will be a rule adopted that if your opponent has clearly indicated he wants no part of conversation with you, you can't continue to incessantly badger and attempt to coerce conversation.
|
I heard no one saying they wanted no speech from him. They want the free information he´s giving away and a penalty for it at the same time.
If such a rule is necessary I wouldn´t object tho.

your chips loose value as time passes and blinds go up. The fact you dont understand how less hands per hr is -EV show how ignorant you are.

You initially said Will was good for the game and rec players would like to be at his table.
Now you are saying that Will was good for Will.
I hope you realize that those statements are not very similar.

[ ] reading comprehension
I am talking about how its bad for the rest of the table and you keep pushing how it is profitable for him. I get it, you fell in love with the guy, want to hug his nuts and your vision is little clouded. What I want to know is what happens if you are at his table. Are you actually worried about all the tanking and stalling with your short/middle stack? Are you quietly sitting by with your big stack not getting involved and watching proudly as Will navigates the rest of the table? Are trying to secretly touch his leg under the table or maybe pass a love letter? Who knows....
