He got the whole table so tilted they acted like a bunch of socially awkward school children. Which IMO looked way worse for poker than 1 individual consistently acting like a tit.
Whether you hate him or not you have to give him props, he had a gameplan that was clearly working, executed it well and cashed for a large sum.
First time in years, maybe ever? feeling, not only tension, but real competitive angst, anger, etc at the table. William Kassouf created, singlehandedly, virtually all the above. Single table live poker with significant money on the line should be this way, always.
So sick the last few years watching the Milly-Vanillying of tournament poker. It's all been some group of suits idea of what politically correct, controlled poker, with pretty personalities is supposed to look like. Sickening.
Poker is supposed to be one of the last places in our over-regulated, codified, soul crushing modern world of insurance protecting against walking on the sidewalk accidents and sad hour after hour of watching television in locked, temperature-controlled boxes, one of the last places where the wild and random still exists and collides with our guile, wit, wisdom and emotions.
The whiny vanilla bitches at Kassouf's tables can go bite baby bottle nipples.
But the same P.C culture and vanilla attitudes are what make it safe for some one like Kassouf to act like that. If he acted like that in a poker club, or a casino in the 1970s he would get thrown out on his ass.
Those guys were not tilted by his talking, they were tilted by the clocking and the time wasting that he was using to intentionally frustrate people. The talking is good for television, but you can't possibly think his tanking every hand is justified.

I'm in favor of a clock. What that clock would entail in terms of each round (i.e. pre-flop without action in front, post flop, etc.), who knows.

Not sure this is true. The stories from years ago, filled with *******s, posers, made-men, and all make and model of angle-shooting baggers, are legion.
Was it rougher back then, no doubt. But, Will Kassouf would have fit in, and adapted his shtick. Now...the internet boys, not so sure they would have survived.

At a private club, it is anything but p.c, but being friendly is encouraged. There are plenty quirky guys that are fun, but Kassouf is non stop needling and it would go beyond social and even as a huge fish he would be pulled aside and talked to. It is not so much the talking, it is the non- stop without a break talking and the tanking as well.
Also, even in the clubs run by people with gang ties, they tell you not to swear when women are playing in the game. I think you are confusing common courtesy and calling it p.c in an attempt to paint Kassouf as a refreshing change from the hooded poker bots at poker tables. He is not.
Tony G is an example of someone who is much more obnoxious than Kassouf, but demands the table play fast so that is much more forgivable than the slow pace, and mindlessly draining chatter.

Some fair points here. Just watched PLO Joeys pod with Kassouf.
He's been playing for a living for almost 4 years now. He's obviously not a fish, and I would love to know if he does all the same things at live cash tables, which he apparently even after some serious tournaments cashes, still plays low limits because, he says, he makes good money playing low limits.
Respectfully disagree that he doesn't bring something new and watchable. But that, I think is simply, personal taste. Now, if he does the same thing at the cash tables, grinding the number of hands to a minimum, with that I would have a problem.

Why is it different at tournament tables then?
I heard him on the Thinking Poker podcast. Obviously Psychology is a pseudoscience, but when you listen to him talk for more than hour its a reminder that it's a pseudoscience like alchemy (attempting to study an underlying real thing - hence the later transformation into Chemistry) rather than one like astrology (attempting to study a non-thing). He would defintiely have something diagnosable.
i understood why the players were upset, but just thought it was funny that there was a dude at wills table the entire coverage that never called him out for anything, then at the most recent table he started talking **** like a boss, it was like when nerds collide.
I thought that dude who made fun of will for posting a photo of winning at 500 nl was extremely out of line and unnecessary. But at the same time he was the one stalking wills social media.. So who's the real loser.
Then the real nerdy dude who said "sorry you had to go through that". After the hand he wasn't even involved in. I lolled so hard at his lameness.
yeah, screw the polite guy. yay the obnoxious cancer
The dude made me want to throw up. Why are so many poker players so soft? It's a cut throat game. I would never apologize to someone for being tilted by someone else. I would be happy if there was a player at the table tilting other players.
the polite guy throwing in an underhanded comment for no reason whatsoever while somehow coming off as the most awkward person of all time? that polite guy?
