Quote of the century. That delivery was marvelous too if I may say so.

Shows you just how much of a blithering idiot Jack Effel is. Guy is on a straight up power trip. Say what you want about Kassouf, he was trying to make conversation and make things entertaining for TV, cant say the same about 90% of the players in the WSOP who don't say a word and hide in their shades and hoodies.

If you watch the altercation in full, you'll realize that Jack was completely unreasonable. He literally didn't even try to understand the situation. Will was being very polite about trying to explain himself, but Jack just completely shut him up and didn't give him a chance to say a word.

I hope you read this Jack - you suck. Nobody likes you. Your decisions are ridiculously arbitrary. Please quit. Hope your power boost has given you some much needed self-esteem.

Edit - Good job on ESPN for not trying to hide the fact that Jack Effel is a complete moron as well.

BTW I'm tlaking about WSOP ME Ep 5, First hand of the video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzWKF70CyBU

...And then for Stacie Matuson to basically blame Will for her horrendous fold like a big baby is so ridiculous and lel-worthy. What has poker come to?

The woman in the hand was the worst.

Playing the "victim card" to have rules applied against another player unreasonably and then crying about the clock being called on her according to a proper application of the rules. Uggh, the double-standards and hypocrisy that these types have to ignore just to function.

p.s--I am certain I would hate playing with both of them equally, but I can respect what he did more than what she did

Will Kassouf is the man. Nothing I have seen him done has been over the line imo. He is clearly great for poker if he is being shown every other hand by ESPN and the WSOP.

Im a Kassouf fan.

ESPN coverage needs characters and villains to be interesting.

Kassouf has those Jamie Gold gift of gab skills, but smarter and with actual poker strat knowledge.

Wonder if Jack rules the same way if villain in hand was male?

nine high like a boss ftw

I really doubt it. It would have been a regular play on. No fuss, no hassle, nothing.

People like Jack Effel is what hurting poker. I am a huge poker fan, not much a players, as you can tell with my low 2p2 post count. However I have been a consumer of poker entertainment for years. I been consuming poker entertainment since Richard Belsky had a pod cast on Card Player and have moved with the masses through pokerroad to Mike and Adam and now ChicagoJoey.

As a poker Fan, it is obvious to me the worst thing that happen to the WSOP was the lost of Matt Savage as their Tournament Director.

Its people like JakeEffel that help keep the fun players and there $$$$$ away from the WSOP. I would rather fly to Europe (EPT) then play in a MTT run by this man.

The latest ESPN episodes seem to depict a toxic environment populated by plebs and ruled by a halfwit. Not a good advert for live poker, even if it's at least partially truthful.
I wish they'd edit out the arguments and negativity and show more of the stuff that attracted me to the game in the first place. You know, some poker.

She deserved a penalty as much if not more for her continued berating of the other guy for calling the clock.

the penalty was fine. you shouldn't be able to bable endless nonsense while someone is trying to make a decision. big distinction from table talk.

The interview starts at about 38 mins in, for those that want to listen to it.

Kassouf does sound quite a lot like David Brent when he's talking at the rail (on the wsop video) hehe

Her attitude does not surprise me. Played with her in a SNG over the summer and she berated a guy in the BB for calling her open min raise from the button. Blinds were small too, like 2nd or 3rd level.

I think he got out of line when he started gesturing with his hands. Shows blatant disrespect for the director. Yeah yeah semantics and all that, but I feel that is the point he went too far.

I never saw anyone really asking for any quiet though. If she need some quiet, she could have respectfully asked for it. If he still kept talking after that, then it might have been warranted.

People today have forgotten how to talk to one another.

Nothing much to this:

The line was very good, and whatever you pretend, the chatter, thehand gestures and the line were done for a competitive advantage, not "to make things entertaining".

Great line, great bluff............ Kassouf was going to get penalized in any event for the hand-gestures if not the chatter, but clearly thought it was worth it. Relax, he did not seem too upset. He knew exactly what he wasdoing in crossing a line.

If you want to make fun all over Jack's getting all flustered because someone was talking too fast for him, go ahead.

What was 100% wrong of Jack was not shushing the other player, who kept addressing Kassouf.

that ruling was ridiculous. Talking is a part of poker, especially when it gets heads up. So out of line to issue a penalty here
