Gonna have to check Bengers tumblr.

Even beyond his little trigglypuff moment, him yelling at William that he'll always be miserable and that his own life is great is just pathetic.

Vayo lying about William badgering a woman to tears is also pretty gross, just because someone is annoying doesn't give you the right to openly lie to people to fuel the mob.

You guys don't get it. Griffin Benger was referring to Kassouf's privilege as a non-mute, talking person. If Benger were stricken mute, I bet he'd think twice about his talkative ways and how that kind of insensitivity can hurt those less fortunate.

The more I read about it the more clear it is to me Benger is frustrated and overacted on misinformation. That's unfortunately, but he's apologised for it, and getting emotionally out of hand on such an important stage, in a situation that poker players dream of being in... it's not that unreasonable. No one's saying he's not out of line, I think, feels like it should be easy to move on from that.

Issue is that I want to make it clear Kassouf's act is not a one off, and he clearly knows it's bothering other people, and moreover, even if he didn't break rules here here (besides not listening to floor rulings and being disruptive and excessive chatter, which IS breaking rules, but whatever), he has a history of willingness to break rules intentionally, and that's important context to have when looking at his actions.

I would like Griffin Benger to take off the jays hat so he stops making me ashamed of home.

K comes off as a complete dick and whoever thinks otherwise might wanna re-evaluate their outlook on life. Table talk-fine. Being an annoying ****-fine. Constantly taking forever to act in trivial situations-dick move and bad for the game. I wish he had gotten slow rolled on his KO hand. Guy deserved it and it would have been EPIC.

He handled both himself and Kassouf extremely well.
Yup. Seemed like a great guy and had a nice little comedy duo going with Kassouf.

I'm just some fish so what do I know...but

Guys like Kassouf can make it interesting for casual viewers & attract new people that wouldn't otherwise watch. Hellmuth was my favourite when I first started learning poker & his outbursts are ***** hilarious to this day.

Whilst I wanted to be on Kassouf's side & that TD seemed like a buffoon, it seems kinda suspicious that everybody on his table appeared to hate him. That's not normal. The guy was likely unbearable for 10+ hours per day.

When that woman was thinking w/QQ, he wouldn't shut up. Even if it's not 'against the rules', thats pretty bad etiquette that I've never really seen before when someone else is making a decision for their tournament life. How many times can you say "I-I-I-I show, you show. I-I-I-I come for a friendly game". You can make the odd quip but really you need to STFU & let them make a decision. There's a big difference between what he was doing &what Siever did in the One-drop or, Hellmuth having a 20-seconds outburst after being sucked out on.

I like how the term 'speechplay' was essentially invented so that a euphemism exists for Kassouf being a dick

Now he's doing TMZ interviews, and judging by the writeup and headlines, there's no more apologizing or regret. Note I didn't watch the interview, but here's the writeup they did:

WSOP PLAYER GRIFFIN BENGER
I had to take down Kassouf.... HE MADE A WOMAN CRY!

THE BEST MAN WON

Pro poker player Griffin Benger doesn't regret blasting his rival, Will Kassouf, for bullying him and other players ... but admits the pair of aces in his hand gave him courage to do it.

Griffin was on "TMZ Live" to break down the video of his battle at the World Series of Poker -- which went viral Monday. In case you missed it, GB went off on Kassouf, calling him verbally abusive. This all went down with $27.8 million in the pot!
He explained what was really behind his outburst, and it sounds like someone had to be the hero that night. Griffin just stepped up.

And now we are all tilted because they don't know the difference between tournament chips and dollars

Agreed, the line "my life is great and your life is terrible" reeked of low self-esteem.

Seriously imagine yourself saying that line on national tv and then sit back and feel the toxic waves of guilt and shame radiate throughout your body.

It will only get worse for Benger as November 9 approaches. His ego would be out of control. Check your privilege Benger, check your privilege!!

Can you read? I literally said he breaks basic rules of poker (talking multiway and disclosing contents of hands during said multiway hands) over and over, even after dealers, other players, and floor people ask him to stop and give him penalties (at first hand penalties, then temp barred him for the night).

I've seen this behaviour several times, but it was the worst that time I described, some pretty high profile players (regular 10/25/50 PLO regs) were present and can confirm. He was asked to leave the Vic in the situation described not 2 months ago and posted it on Facebook.

At the FT it would be awesome if Benger checked verbally and the whole crowd shouted, 'YOUR PRIVILEGE'

I've been out of poker for a few years, but dipped back in when I saw the episodes come up on YT.

A few things:

Lon wouldn't have a personality if it was surgically grafted onto his soul.

Cliff Josephy has the smuggest, most punchable face in poke...scratch that...of anyone in anything ever.

The VT we saw of him earlier where it just amounted to him showing how great his life is....how were we actually supposed to react to that? Was it supposed to make us all warm and fuzzy inside that an ex banker has a great life?

I've been rooting against him hard since that vomit inducing clip.

The way he acted around Kassouf in general was appallingly childish as well. He's clearly quite controlling and a character like Kassouf was well out of his control and he couldn't handle it.

Telling the rest of the table they were in it together was just terrible. The extent Will got under his skin was surprising for an older gent.

Will Kassouf. I found his patter pretty grating immediately when it became obvious he had the same few lines over and over. Tanking on easy decisions is unforgiveable as well.

However, because we know he only has the same few lines in his pocket, the accusations of him being abusive is just laughable. All he says is about showing/not showing etc for hours and hours. Annoying? Of course. Abusive? Not from anything we were shown.

Vayo said he was abrasive and obnoxious. I've watched all the episodes back to back and he always seemed to have a smile on his face no matter what was happening.

Even when the crybaby c*nt slammed over his aces at the end he was still cool calm and collected and had a big smile on his face even though he knew he was about to get knocked out of the biggest payday he will likely ever have in poker.

You can't say the same for any of the others.

F*ck that utter CHILD who wouldn't shake Will's hand as well. That was absolutely appalling.

Lastly, I wonder how it will feel to be a global laughing stock within the global poker community - 'Check your privelege' will hopefully haunt Benger forever.

This has to be at once the cringiest, funniest and in many ways saddest line I've ever heard uttered on a poker table. I still can't quite belive he said it. I can't really believe anyone said it with a straight face even when it surfaced a few years ago.

In summary...they pretty much all looked and acted like utter children because someone took them so far out of their comfort zone. Kassouf is also a massive dickhead as well for slowing the game down to a brutal pace.

In the end, Josephy and Benger in-particular should be choking in embarrassment for the way they acted and what they said. I doubt they will though.

Actually, stick miserable casper the ghost wannabe Vayo in there as well for the exagerations he put in to everyone about Kassouf.

Oh yeah, and that poker pro (can't remember his name) who had a pop at all poker players for being dickheads without having the awareness to notice that he was also a big old dickhead himself. That was bad as well.

All round, a pretty sad look in at the poker world.

I'm team absolutely anyone but Josephy. I will cry if he wins.

Doing an interview for TMZ about a poker hand is the nut low -- that request should've been an auto-fold.

I encourage Kassouf to play the Aussie Millions in January. I can guarantee none of his antics would be tolerated here.

That was Jared Bleznik, debatably one of the biggest dickheads in poker.
