I wish there was some way to check this mathematically because I would be willing to bet against it. Add to the fact that he wastes time on every hand to the fact that he never shuts the **** up and a strong case can be made for him being one of the worst people for poker in a long time.

I think Zvi Stern last year, for example, was worse. Like, if you think he's the biggest scumbag in poker, when you've got people all over the poker world who scam people out of money or angle shoot. Guy just takes a little while to play his hands. It's annoying at time, sure, but biggest scumbag is just nonsensical.

I also disagree that he ruins it for everyone at the table. I've played with him before in a tournament and had no issue with him being there. He was just the same as he was here and on a much shorter clock.

If he didn't run deep it's hard to see what the coverage would of been. It certainly wasn't going to be gripping. Episode 14 was like the guy sweeping up after a party. Everyone was boring as ****. Even the FT bubble hand was lacklustre

If only there was some way to stop players from tanking for 15 minutes. Something that was as easy as saying one word in a clear loud voice.

I've seen it as the WSOP where habitual tankers are put on the clock immediately upon action reaching them until they get the message. There's no reason this couldn't have been done if anyone asked for it.

I'm sure Effel would have been glad to show up and count it down himself personally.

I think Sands has taken feedback on this issue and now tanks much much much less than he used to. I haven't seen it myself but I'm fairly sure I heard this on the 2p2 PokerCast or Thinking Poker or one of the other podcasts I occasionally listen to.

If I were in Benger's spot, I'd have said something like this: "William, you're irritating everyone else at the table. You either don't know you're doing it, in which case you're clueless; or you do, in which case you're being malicious. It isn't friendly and nobody else here thinks it's well-motivated. I'm never under any circumstance going to answer to any of your questions, whether they're the silly and repetitive ones or the reasonable ones; I'm never going to show you anything; and I'm automatically going to call a clock on you as soon as reasonably possible on every hand. If you want me to treat you more reasonably, stop tanking and stop babbling and stop your ridiculous habit of calling for cards on the flop, particularly when you're not in a hand."

Stern isn't even close to Kassouf. Stern tanks like ~20 seconds on average. Kassouf takes up to a minute and 30 seconds ("with speech play") to make a decision. He's definitely the worst.

Take it how you want, but almost 10 years ago now I played Griffen Benger (Shaguar) In a counter strike tournament. After his team (3d) won a close match, everyone else on the team shook our hand and said good game and bsed for a min but him. I walked over there said gg he didn't even look up and acknowledge someone was talking to him. One of his teammates rolled his eyes at him as I walked away.

Played them a couple more times through out the years, never had a good experience.

Take that how ever you want, I just can't say I'm cheering for him to do anything but come in 9th.

the guy is annoying as hell but thats his plan and im pretty sure it worked really well. i really dont care for the guy either way but i think how people dealt with a guy who everyone knew was trying to get under everyones skin was what was really surprising. like hes gonna stop after he gets a reaction out of you, way to fuel the fire you sensitivos. lol at benger. Felt bad for Kassouf towards the end a bit. I'm mates with Matt Moss and he was saying that it really was just the time wasting that was the major issue. I think jack should have been firm and had Will on a 1minute clock for decisions. It would have been harsh but if he's wasting people's time every hand he's destroying someone's EV etc by getting less and less hands in and that's a tactic that's again the spirit of the game.

However the amount of crying about his talking or 'speech play' is completely pathetic. The nerdy guys not shaking his hand etc and Benger pathetically doing the 'it's verbal abuse' or the 'check your privilege' was way more cringe to watch and is probably way worse for poker in the long run than someone speaking to players in hands. If they don't talk back to him that's fine but he's within his rights to keep talking.
