Basically, the TD went on a power trip and arbitrarily enforced a penalty because he didn't like the player.

There is a zero percent chance this happens to a famous TV pro in the same situation, therefore the TD has shown clear bias. There's also a higher chance that a penalty would not have been enforced if the opponent was male, but that's an entirely separate issue. Women do get harassed at the table and a penalty is justifiable for abusive behaviour but despite Kassouf being perhaps 'annoying', he certainly wasn't abusive so a penalty isn't justified.

I'd love some clarification of how Stacy received the information about the straight flush hand.
Are people allowed to approach the table and whisper things in your ear?
Did Stacy leave the table to receive this whisper?
If so why the need to whisper?
Who was the whisperer?
Was the whisperer there in any official capacity ?
Was the whisperer known to Stacey?
If not why would Stacy trust this information and let it influence a decision "for her tournament life"?
Did anyone else witness this whispering?

I played with Per on day 4 and he engaged in conversation. Television distorts things and makes it seem like less talkative people are stone silent. While he wasn't the most conversational person at the table, he spoke when he had something to contribute and did that in an engaging way. I enjoyed playing with him.

Media cuts up and distorts "reality" to push a narrative. With editing and enough film, you can make anyone look good or bad around the table.

I'd love to see the edit that could paint Deeb in a good light.

I am pretty sure you got the better deal compared to the beating Stacey got here.

Everything about the hand was mind blowing

Regardless of what he said or anyone's hurt feelings, the simple matter is Kassouf PURPOSEFULLY stalls and slows down the game when he has already made a decision. That's scumbag behavior and defending anyone who does that makes you a scumbag as well.

Nuff said.

Just checked his Hendon Mob. Since the WSOP one of his cashes was in a 30 pound live event. I still think he is a boss though.

I thought the same. The clip where he repeatedly says "marvellous" is also reminiscent of the Fast Show's Ron Manager.

I can see why they put it in the wsop video, for a bit of cringe factor drama.

I really think Kassouf should make a training video about his speech play, may have some comedy potential lol

Kassouf's patented SpeechPlay(TM) Training Video
----------------------------------------------------

"You've memorized the charts and you've learnt all the maths, but that's not enough to beat todays games!
Tired of the grind? Learn to grind down your opponents!"

"Learn from the master - WSOP cash winner Kassouf and his patented SpeechPlay(TM) system."

(scene cuts to a drab and depressing UK office style set, where Kassouf stands infront of a whiteboard and a line of students who look both tired and slightly scared. The students are visibley worn down, blood-shot eyes etc. from dealing with their 'David Brent-esque' mentor. Kassouf in contrast, appears happy and bouyed up by his recent cash win).

Each student in turn, then learns parrot fashion, phrases from Kassouf. He says it, they say it back, ping-ponging back and forth, for an uncomfortably long time. The student repeats the phrase but fails dismally to mimic the estuary english / mockney accent and annoying manner every single time (as only the master can do it!).

(the patented phrases)
- 'You fold and show, I'll show... You fold and show I'll show.. You fold and show, I'll show...'
- 'I want you to call, I'll keep it friendly, you fold and show, I'll show...'
- 'COCONUTS!'

(camera pulls back to reveal various students driven visibley mad/almost suicidal from months of training at the SpeechPlay(TM) boot camp, some rolling on the floor, some rocking back on forth in their seat, wild-eyed, endless repeating the mantra to themselves :'you fold and show, I'll show... you fold and show, I'll show..')

Honestly, I just started watching the video of the 2016 WSOP just to try to figure out what the **** people are talking about in this thread. I am 50 seconds in and it was insufferable.

then there's something wrong with you. who doesn't like it when someone "speech play" tank folds trash vs an open, wasting everyone's time and slowing down the action?

marvelous

Wasting time is a bad thing, but that would be solved with a shot clock. What's wrong with 20-30 seconds to act and each player gets 3x 1 minute extensions which are replenished at the start of each day of play?

Stalling is absolutely a bad thing, and calling the clock on players who take excessively long to act is fine. If someone is stalling every hand, literally call the clock on them every hand (although again a shot clock would be better) - but again, none of that is what Kassouf was penalised for. I'd be fine with a TD giving a penalty for excessive stalling/acting unreasonably slowly after a warning is given.

I have no idea what you are talking about. But I assume that if I delve further into this thread, I am not going to like it. Presumably, it is already ****ed to hell anyway. Good luck.
