I have good reasons for thinking that. This is a bit of a long story but I'll try to make it short:
WPN blocked my Entropay Visa card for no reason. I was travelling and tried to load my account at America's Cardroom from a hotel room in Ghana. It didn't work and when I got home and tried to load it Entropay was removed as an option. When I contacted support they told me that Entropay was no longer an option for me because: "
the account has been flagged by another gaming site as potential risk; this could happen due to several reason(sic) such as disputed transactions, insufficient funds checks or stated a gambling problem."
Now I knew this was wrong so I tried to convince them to reinstate my Entropay option because there is nothing wrong with my card and there has never been a problem with me at any site for any reason. As a test I deposited at Pokerstars, 888 and Party and had no problem using the card. After many back and forth emails they refused to budge but in one of their final emails they let it slip that "
We have reviewed your case and there is nothing we can do as it was the security software that disabled the card options due to a country mismatch and we cannot override the software. We will need to use a different deposit method like Bitcoin or Neteller. It took many emails before they finally told me the truth, "country mismatch". What a load of ****. You can't load your account unless you are in your home country? So it was their security software that did it.
Security software. So there you have it. Even when the support people knew there was nothing wrong with my card they still refused to reverse the block because "we cannot override the software".
This is why I say that they are morons. Let's assume that 888 has security software similar to WPN. Let's assume that their software flagged all of these accounts for an erroneous reason. The support people 'cannot override the software'. Who knows how many innocent accounts have been locked up due to a poorly coded computer algorithm?
I think this is important. How many sites are using this 'security software'? It's not unrealistic to assume that 888 may have this security software. Once you are flagged, you are in for a long, uphill battle.
