joey,
i'm watching the first one.
great idea. it's hard to follow the hands though. isn't there a hand viewer you could use?

No Hand Viewer.

Use a few gifs to convey the action. Maybe even implement a few Plasticine characters.

I wish I was doing these then too, would have been talking **** about the plays I made the whole time tho

I'll go back in the archives and see if I can find some hands between us but I think that is like 3 years ago, have to email stars and see if they can send from that far back

I have thought about doing this as well, I think being able to follow along with the hands as written down really should be easy enough but I know many noobs out there aren't good at reading HH's. I think it makes it better for some people that do understand how to read them to follow and see the action on earlier streets/sizings used in that spot, how many in pre...etc.. as I spend more than a couple minutes talking about the hands.

I'll try to figure out a way I can incorporate both into the screen, I think there is probably some pretty simple way to do that.

enjoy the show, and was one of the 15%ers.

Thanks David, much appreciate any feedback like this as I am noob and sometimes unaware of what I might be doing or saying

I actually tested the vid initially and thought it was too loud so I ended up turning the levels down. Watched it back today and the times that came off as mumbling where when I talked lower but I do need to slow my speech down a bit so the drug addicts (urubu ) of the world can follow better. I made a big effort to do this in the first pod but the second I forgot about it and ended up talking my normal million miles per hour too often. Sometimes I really have no ****ing idea what someone was doing in a hand, just happened to be a few of them but I the yolo hand, i will never stop using it. Glad you made it to the endddd

This is very much my master plan behind doing it I have actually gotten a much larger amount of messages on here and twitter/fb from people telling me this exact same thing than I would have anticipated. It makes me so happy

scripts to hide tank-top? I guess 50% of the viewers leave after realizing he's actually wearing one of these on cam:

Reading hand histories removes the element of surprise. If there's a hand viewer then we get to follow the action like its tv. I trust you can still get all the info out there.

It's also hard to read if you're watching on a small screen. That was my main issue. Is that a heart or a diamond? Aw screw it.

Making PLO exciting again. It's no coincidence I actually played yahoo PLO last night.

how are you a pokerstars regular if oyu live in the US?

also agree with using a replayer instead of showing full hand history.
rather boring but id love to learn a bit more PLO so ill check back in a few episodes.

i know no ones asking for my advice but i think youd make a more compelling show if you had adamant opinions instead of just saying "thats fine whatever you could do either" on every step. mildly giggling at the one weird part and then saying "thats fine, whatever."

maybe it gets better i was too bored to continue.

I played on ps for 6-7 yearsish before coming back here, all of the regs are for the most part still the same and I have a fair amount of history with almost everyone

The first one I had more "adament" opinions on different things but I wanted to try to be less in depth I guess you could say about those same spots in the second one which came off more as "thats fine, whatever". I do think you are right though that I should be giving a bit more concrete statements just to make the things I say different (i think i will get better with this in time). My intention for it wasn't to be so people could learn/get better at PLO after watching this video, it is that people might become interested in learning more about PLO and then from that point seek out a site to play on or other material they could watch/read that would then help them learn how to play. So in those spots where I say you could do either one, it doesn't matter, I'm not trying to tell you "i think you should always do this because this so when you play do this " when really I don't think the decision chosen in the specific spot matters that much and both are fine. From the vantage point of someone who plays some PLO now at the small stakes on some level I actually think me making the statement it doesn't matter much what you do here is helping them learn though that in a similar spot making either decision could be good.

I think similar to the post a few above about deucescracked people are thinking this is a training video, it is not meant to be that. I think there will be some people who hear new concepts to them discussed and figure out a way to adapt it into there own approach but overall its more of a recap on hands played, who these players are, talking plo.

This is only my 2nd time doing it and I am at the micro stakes phase of it so far I expect many people to get bored at some point listening/looking at a fixed image of a HH on a screen while listening to me talk at some point in time, I know I'm not that entertaining. But some will enjoy it, enjoy hearing plo talked about, regs discussed and rage stories so they will stick around

And I actually did ask for your advice/feedback a couple times in the thread , I like hearing opinions like yours because it helps me think about how I can improve the way I come off to different kinds of people.

I think you got to have the unconverted HHS if you want to use a replayer. Babysweat seem committed so maybe he will pm them to you

The thing to remember is you can't please everyone. Some going to like some things, others won't like those things.

For me I actually like that there are not that many definite statements, as in truth most spots are up for debate. Poker is about thinking and he is running through some of his thoughts which is fine, there are always going to be people out there who want to be told what to do in every spot, like there are always definite answers and this is the way. I advise listening to what he says and come up with your own answers.

I like the zoom in but for me it's defo better when I can see the hole cards from the start and sometimes they were not in view. Not sure how others feel about this.

Overall a great job, keep em coming and keep it fun with humour. I wouldn't worry too much about not being serious enough i.e. too jokey or whatever. The humour and relaxed vibe was what kept me watching the first one and made me come back. It seems like your natural self is to keep it fun so I would suggest staying that way, it's not as if people are paying $$'s and have a right to tell you be otherwise.

Looking forward to the Doug-cast too!

Thanks alot guys for watching/subbing, glad you enjoyed the latest episode happy that you liked the GIF part

I've been thinking that most of the people that end up clicking on this thread will only watch a bit of the first one and never make it to the updates farther down in the thread so episode 1 will end up with a really high number views
