Of course. I listen to the podcasts REPEATEDLY

My point is in relation to the long term future of poker, which imo there isnt one. If coaches want to coach fine. They need to be honest about what their hourly is and SHOULD price their service accordingly (if they dont want people calling them out). At the same time customers need to be accurately valuing what the information is worth.

To use your example of ben86. He mentioned $20k/hour might be what he would coach for. Now take into consideration how the recent pokerstars changes affect the longterm sustainability of the games, of the chances of being a poker pro for a long time.

Now ask ben again what that number should now be. If $20k was accurate before AND he was being honest, then the price TODAY is <$20k!!!!!!

Coaching pricing in poker is weird. Ben86 said this point himself- he could easily coach like a 100plo reg to move up to 400plo (just not interested atm). But he would never coach someone just below him to reach his own stakes.

I'm sure his coaching for that would be worth well over 20k, and he might not even do it. I mean if someone with 70 IQ and could not even spell poker would pay 5k for coaching, and Ben86 doesn't have moral objections, he would snap take up that offer.

Poker coaching is sold on a market, and if sellers are asking too much, they won't be able to find buyers. It is up to the buyers to determine if the price is fair or not. If you have a reason to think a particular coach is overpriced, you are free to post in the thread and say so.

Good stuff Joey and Dani.

From youtube chat on latest podcast.

Daniel Negreanu I'm on calls all day. Working on this ****
Daniel Negreanu This is a major issue for me, the biggest and most important since I joined PokerStars
Daniel Negreanu Give me a few days to figure all this out and I will post a blog and I can only promise you that I won't breach my integrity one bit
Daniel Negreanu I am officially stressed about it and have some really big decisions to make.
Daniel Negreanu I reject that fully. I will not breach my integrity for any amount of money.

I feel bad for Daniel, he's obviously in a really tough spot - there's basically no way to make this sound good for the players by any stretch. And I think he may be crazy enough to jeopardize his Stars deal for sake of his integrity, if something doesnt get changed. And if he does, he will officially be my hero.

We need to fight this REG'S & REC'S also fun players need to know that it will affect them to, ffs its hard enough to move up in stakes without the PRO'S all moving down in stakes. THINK about it guys, seriously.

It sounds stupid, but Daniel really could make a difference here if he wanted. To general public he's synonomous to poker and the face of PokerStars. He could make a stand, or just take the paycheck.

Not criticizing him fwiw, dont think he owes us anything.

What does he reject fully?

I can't wait for Daniel's blog post. PokerStars already used their PR ammunition to spin this as good for the players and educated readers saw right through it.

Sorry, can't read the whole thread before posting. I do actually have a life every now and then
Just wanna make a quick statement, don't know if this changes anything, but at least I wanna make a small effort.

I'm a dedicated high volume SN player since 2010/11 or something, playing Poker since '09. It's tough enough for me to be a winning player right now (which I'm often not). I'm not going to accept another cut to my winrate. Simple as that. I'm not going to. Not even with sugar on top.

I was actually demanding a rake decrease since 1-2 years. Ya hear me Stars? I think you are already raking most games too high, because you know as well as we do that the games have gotten a lot tougher. Do you even play online, bro?

I'll tell you what will happen to me. If holding up my current - just barely positive - winrate gets any tougher for me I'm only gonna participate in the absolute softest games on Stars that are left for me, which would reduce my rake contribution by about 99% I assume? Something in that neighborhood. Bottom line is you're effectively losing me as a customer. Did that sound like I was happy about it? Uhm well, I'm not.

I'm not sure if my message came across the right way, so I'm gonna word it differently: You scared me so bad with this news about this effective rake increase, I almost shat my pants and wanted to curl up in a corner and cry. You don't want to see me cry, it's ****ing ugly.

Listen, you've had countless freezes and lags in recent years (timing me out of all kinds of pots :tears: ), and the timebank didn't work several times - twicewhen unfortunately I held pocket aces, so the software decided folding was the best move! What are you going to do about those issues? (hint hint)
"See, we have had the best software in the past, but now that it has started not working correctly anymore and costing people money on numerous occasions, we will also increase rake on top of not being able to fix anything. Because logic and reasoning."

And this is me putting it nicely. I assure you I don't hold grudges, just please stop making Pokerstars look more and more ridiculous every next year. It was such a great plattform to play on. I'd like to stay if you just let me. Please don't chase me little crybaby away?

Papi:

The only non-troll posts I ever make in NVG will (probably) be to express my appreciation for your podcast. I listen to it when I lift, trying to get swole enough to duke it out with Jason Koon. And although I will never be as ripped as Kai Greene, I wouldn't even know who that was if not for the Lefortcasts.

As Khader Bhai suggested in Ben86's literary reccomendation (Shantaram): You are moving the world toward ultimate complexity, and thus your actions move the state of reality toward ultimate good.

Amazing podcast. Thank you Ansky. I'm happy someone is being vocal about the ******ed changes Pokerstars is planning to implement.
Grabbing fpp money like it's nothing is a complete shameless steal. Plus breaking the SNE contract... My confidence in pokerstars is at an all time low, not that they care.

The appeal of poker has always been the huge amounts of money exchanging hands, it seems Amaya doesn't agree with this. Too bad for them I guess.
