LOL. IMO its obvious he's just messing around with mostly non english speaking friends/colleagues. As far as his passive play it is pretty much exactly the way he played the short deck tourneys in which he came 1st and 4th. I think he thinks (either correctly or incorrectly) that this is the best strategy for short deck. I think its been great seeing him joking and messing around with others at the table. You never really get to see that.

He didn't just play passively. He got absolutely owned in almost every pot he played that went post-flop. He ran pretty bad and it was probably just a bad day at the office. He seems to have a default of always folding one pair hands. To be honest the game isn't super soft considering the high variance and two of the Asian players look very good players in this format.

I agree about the chat. He was talking to the guy beside him about a 7/8m downswing (I think that is what he said) he had. I think I heard him say he was up massively at one point until a hand with Jungle when Jungle had a straight flush turned things and it was all downhill from that point.

When he said at 3:03 28 that in almost every case people are playing all their own money I assumed he included himself in that. Especially since he went on to say hey I’m sort of making an exception cause I’m giving an option for the 15% to rui as I’m taking his seat. That was just my impression when I heard it.

Dwan said in some interview a few days ago that he was still giving Ivey pointers on how to play shortdeck, so maybe Ivey's still kinda a noob at shortdeck and is still learning it.

Those guys are good at 1 specific game, stars online cash so who cares? Maybe exception of True Teller. Ivey can beat so many forms of poker. If those guys are so good why don't they play the one drop and other big tournaments? or the million dollar cash games?
