Shocker that Addamo and Imsirovic are chip leaders. I'm guessing they have an edge in this event.

Yah these super high rollers are dull af. Unless some nutty businessman enters or JRB gets stacked and spews his stack there's no reason to watch them.

Not sure who guy with 2nd shortest stack is.

I agree it's dull in the sense that most of these guys will be super light on banter, and I'm sure the tanking will be a little much.

But as far as the actual poker being played. I don't think it gets much better.

They are on a 30 second shot clock so probably the least tanked WSOP event there is

Saying that, it would not surprise me if he entered into this for POY points
This is correct, I was playing PLO at the Aria with the wife of the guy who won said seat. Him and Phil walked over to talk to her about it. The way they were chatting, it really seemed like Phil and the guy knew each other beforehand. Phil was freerolling, but I did not overhear the percentage split.

Anyone know if DNegs is putting up the full $250k? There are a lot of top pros so some of them could put up the full amount.

Update
This article popped up in my Google newsfeed just now. So certainly seems like DNegs can put up $250k if he's taking home more than $4 million/year from GGPoker
How much is Daniel Negreanu worth?

As per HendonMob, Negreanu occupies third place in the All-Time Money List with $43,988,975 career earnings.

As of November 2021, Negreanu’s net worth estimation was worth over $60,000,000.

In June 2007, Negreanu signed a sponsorship deal with PokerStars, a leading operator in the gaming industry.

According to reports, Negreanu pocketed nearly $4,000,000 annually from this deal.
It included base yearly salary, an assortment of live and online buy-ins, and paid expenses when playing PokerStars tour events.

Furthermore, Negreanu received bonuses each time he final-tabled a televised event, and the prize got bigger if he won the tournament.

Negreanu signed a multi-year deal with GGPoker in 2019, which was more lucrative than his previous deal with PokerStars, making him the best-paid poker ambassador.

Negreanu has also written several poker strategy books as well as appeared in a few movies.

No. He sold at least 25% ($62,500) of the 250k to the public on PocketFives. I picked up a $500 piece lmao

As far as poker pros in the field go I'm pretty sure DNegs is the one most likely to have all his own action lol

edit: aaand nvm apparently he's selling action on pocketfives

Ah right, I know he does that stuff with the no markup. 75% $188k is still a substantial buy-in. That used to be enough to cover all the WSOP events when the biggest event was the $10k ME.

From Pokernews.

Vogelsang's idea.

Quote:
Coronavirus Tests Required to Play

Behind the three Super High Roller tables inside the Amazon room, dozens of self-use COVID-19 tests were placed on an empty table for players to use. The players asked that everyone test for the virus prior to the start of play on Day 2 (Friday).

Most of the 26 unique players in the $250,000 buy-in bracelet event appeared to be on board with the protocols. PokerNews caught up with Seth Davies, who is in the tournament, on a break. He confirmed that Vogelsang drew up a contract and that all players were required to test negative prior to competing.

"I think it was a good idea because it's the WSOP official policy," Davies said of the COVID-19 contract, meaning the policy that anyone who tested positive would be required to leave the tournament. "Say you came in today with 4 million chips and tested positive, it would save you."

Davies said that everyone who cashed and agreed to the contract would "pay out proportional."

As he explained, the money would be reimbursed to a player who tests positive via the prize pool. He also said, however, it's unlikely anyone will test positive for COVID-19, and there were no positive tests on Day 2.

For now, the COVID contract is a mere safety net for players, and only time will tell if it comes into play.

I was there when he lost tons of chips. Unfortunately, the cards were far away and I can't come with specifics. He got triple barreled and he check called all three barrels.

The triple barrel guy hit an Ace on the river to go along with his Ax. Addamo definitely had him beat until that Ace. I overheard the guy tell a reporter: he had two pair Aces and Sevens with King kicker.

Addamo had a pained look when triple barrel guy showed, and he mucked.

Anyone know who John Kincaid is? https://www.wsop.com/players/profile/?playerid=4767

He hasn't had any results in nearly ten years, it's impressive he has even bought in, but he is now one of the chip leaders with 10 left. I would love to hear his story, and I'll definitely be rooting for him. It's always nice to see random guys come in and compete, and maybe even beat, the best poker players in the world.

The one hand write up I found from the tourney was far from a standard GTO open in which he opened 34s UTG against many 30 BB effective stacks , maybe his unpredictability and a bit of luck can help him take it down!

Also go Nebraska Cornhuskers!

Looks like we might get a pretty fun final table. Players I'm hoping for: This John Kincaid character, Ben Heath, Stephen Chidwick, Daniel Negreanu, and Dan Smith.

Hoping for DNegs to stone bubble so we can get a funny vlog from him

+1

No super deep stack early stack building play shown. No full 8 or 9 handed table play shown. And no high tension money bubble play shown, an especially egregious mistake in the WSOP tournament with an impressive $600K bubble.

I too would have liked to see the pain of the bubble, but there is also the mercy shown to the players, particularly the guy who has to come back the next day only to make no money

More garbage coverage from PokerGo. They've streamed entire days of super high roller events THIS YEAR.
