For those in the uk, its on at 2am on Espn, so either on Sky or Sky Player (computer/iPad/Xbox).

However, FIA GT1 racing is scheduled for 4am, so if the FT is more than 2hrs not sure if they keep it running....

is this seriously news to some ppl? i thought everyone was levelling..

in addition to that: the win is so much more than the money so its impossible to calculate(you get a pokerstars deal most likely worth XXX, interviews, fame etc etc, who would chop? only the most boring/dumb human alive would think only about the money here)

Isn't it well known that Moneymaker offered the chop but Farha declined?

so you think a main event has never been chopped? wow, i find this extremely unlikely.

i obviously don't know, and clearly all involved would do their best to keep it under wraps, but with the amount of money at stake i would be super surprised if the main event wasnt chopped every year tbh.

@ wild will: ok your entitled to your opinion. but it sounds really weird to me. not a single rumour about a main being chopped. if every main has been chopped, no one ever said anything about it ever? sounds unlikely to me.

the guy with the most skill is practically killing his edge, as theyre playing for way way less money. + risking his reputation etc by making the deal in the first place.

i have my view , i guess a lot of ppl think in different ways about this. that's fine

edit: also lol @ tax implications.. ur gonna convince the government that no really, i only got 3rd place money, coz yeah we made a deal behind the scenes. not gonna sit well.

the only reason i can think of as to why it might not get chopped is that lamb might not be eligible for the online sponsorships that the other two might in addition to him thinking he's superior.

but there is so, so much luck involved right now.

re: chopping, paging fossilman...

actually sifted through the wsop rules, and didnt find it being explicitly forbidden(i only glanced thru the rules there are a lot of 'em), but imo it hurts the reputation/integrity of the wsop. so you might forfeit your prize money if that is how they interpret it. it's fine with wcoop, so maybe it's fine here too, just seems weird to me.

yeah, check with someone who knows, im kind of interested now in what the official wsop event line is on this :O

Looks like no Hellmuth on commentary, surely some will be delighted by that news.

the official wsop line means nothing.

Not being allowed to chop is the most ******ed idea ever and imo, why the wpt was/is a joke. You're allowed to chop/make-deals in every other tournament, so why not this one?

What real integrity is lost here? YOU ARE STILL PLAYING FOR THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FFS

ESPN3 keeps it on-demand viewing for quite some time. Not sure if you have access to that.

hell if i was any one of these players id agree to an icm chop and play for the bracelet, which is probably worth a few milly at least in endorsements and etc.
I'd icm chop the endorsements, too.

Its a known fact the Heinz is backed by MaxKatz's fund, so he probably has sold from 50 to 70% of himself. Max wrote already, that he will be a rich man after tonight, so i imagine it's closer to 60-70% sold. From what i know/heard, Stazsko bought it by himself, promissed 10-15% to his dad.

Don't know about Lamb, but can't imagine he needs to sell shares with his previous results.

P.S. - Gogogogogogogog Benba!

there's a difference between officially sanctioned chops and players deciding to chop.

it would be mind-blowing to me if every one of the last 9 or so ME weren't chopped, let alone wpt's.

not sure how things work because ive never been that deep in a major tournament, but I'm guessing there would be escrow services available if needed.

hellmuth did a wonderful job, in terms of mass appeal. obv busquet smoothly did like greatest tech job ever in july, and was missed sunday. but for the sake of the everyman, hearing the greatest wsop player ever stumble over math in analysis, and announcing his simple reads, he was a major coup. his process for "making reads" is something many players can relate to. i'm not even being nasty towards PH here. he's improved markedly as a commentator, and did away w/ all his self-aggrandizing from last year. if it's mostly antonio tonight, that'll be fine too as he's done a very good job as well.
