Pretty pumped today about this. If Ivey doesn't win it, I hope Moon does.

A little help with timings, how long, given the structure etc can we reasonably expect this to play out for?

I ask because im in the UK and won't be back home untill 3AM UK GMT time, will there still be play by then?

I dont think so. I think they have two shows on two days. One down to two and one HU. I could be mistaken though.

No way to know but I would be surprised if it lasted less than 10 hours.

They may be on dinner break around 3am GMT.

OK thanks, it's just I work in a bar so going to work soon...back home at 3AM and then stay up for three hours. Glad it looks like there will be play.

Final table will be Tuesday night, covering all the action from nine down to one.

I watched the 2009 WSOPE High ROllers FT stream on pokerstars.tv and it was pretty good imo, lots of cameras and the PS commentators were excellent.

Anyway, what would be the best place to have a good, fast overview of what is going on?

This is incorrect.

ESPN's coverage of the play taking place tonight and Monday night will be aired on Tuesday from 9pm - 11pm (EST). HU play will probably take up 15 minutes of this 120 minutes of coverage.

Note that Kevmath mentioned they might go over the 11pm mark for a few minutes to include a few more HU hands.

Hey guys:

I never play tourneys, only cash games. That being said, with Aikenhead coming into the final table as short stack with an M of like 10, what should his gameplan be? Is he at the point where he'll be resteal shoving over opening raises yet or does he still have enough room to maneuver a little bit? Is the fact that Moon is on his right as chip leader a slight advantage? (Of course he has Ivey on his left)

Basically if you were in his shoes, how would you be looking to chip up today?

EDIT: Also, while it says it starts up at 3pm est, last year it took over and hour to get going IIRC with intros, ceremonies of various kinds, random delays, etc.

I watched a live stream in '06 and '07 and found it very enjoyable as a poker junkie. Combined with detailed hand updates, it gives you a much better idea of what went down and how.

I wish I weren't in the position this year of having to root for the 3 lowest chip stacks and rooting against the 3 biggest.

They are still pretty deep, there are many possible gameplans, if you look at the other stacks a very agressive play would be ideal for the shortstacks, but if you look at the blinds, which are still relatively low, they can wait for good spots to come up, too. I think we'll see both tactics being used tonight.

Gonna order some pizza and put the live stream over my speakers in the living room.

I'm putting my money on Darvin busting out in the first ten hands... Especially when you have Phil Jaws Ivey and other sharks out there... Darvin Nemo Moon doesn't stand a chance.

How do you think the payout structure affects the play ? The jumps between 5th and 9th are really small, I think big stacks will face a lot of action from short stacks

sick read

Quote:
Bloch’s bet has been well documented. With still a monstrous field of roughly 2,500 players remaining in this year’s main event, Bloch offered Ivey 99:1 odds that he wouldn’t win the tournament.

“He took $20,000 from his pocket and he threw it to Andy,” Elezra said. That spur-of-the-moment decision could cost Bloch nearly $2 million.

“Everybody is rooting for Phil Ivey. I would be too if I didn’t have a bet against him,” Bloch told Card Player TV at the Festa al Lago main event a couple weeks ago. “I could be on the hook for $2 million if he wins unless I can figure out some kind of settlement beforehand, but with Phil Ivey, that’s going to be tough…[I] just talked to him briefly, but… our numbers are pretty far apart. And he’s a gambler. He’s like, ‘I’d like to increase the bet.’”

LOL, I'll give you 30:1 on that one!

Also from that artice:

And still, he is itching for more action.

“He’s ready to put up to $2 million on himself at 6:1,” said Elezra. “I heard Juanda is considering it.”
