At the end of the day, people will just see him as a great player and forget about eveything else.

Glad to see that the old adage that money can't buy happiness still holds true. Well, 2btc doesn't seem to.

Cards up your sleeve.
Removing cards from play.
Cold decking.
Early access to hole cards
Maybe a secret house rule like 3 pair beats a straight. Operative word secret
not an exhaustive list, but it's a much smaller leap from memorizing or viewing preflop charts to RTA than it is to actually cheating.

Is holding cheating in an NFL game?
Fouling on a layup in the NBA?
Fighting in hockey?
Offsides in Soccer?
Flopping?

Lol. I guess he missed the part where all of those offenses have consequences that hurt the team to disincentive them from happening.

RTA’s consequences are ban hammer, fund confiscation, and community ridicule when caught. Also, this is cheating because the villains have no idea it’s happening. So none of those examples are really applicable, anyways.

"They can't call it every play"
- Seattle Seahawks

All of these things happen all the time with random enforcement here and there. If you're not cheating you're not trying.

Just because you can be good without cheating doesn't excuse cheating. Google "Barry Bonds steroids"

(I don't follow sports, but from my understanding he would still be a top player even without steroids)

No. You wil just have to be wrong.

It is against the rules thus it is cheating. You may not like or agree with the rule but that is a different argument.

online poker is impossible to fix not because of the logistics of doing so but because of the nature of the people who are drawn to the game.

live poker will always fair better against cheating because you not only have to cheat/win but you also have to make it to your car.

Because he used RTA for so long that he learned from it well enough to compete legitimately (of course, that doesn't justify all the cheating he did).

As OP, this thread has evolved massively from when I started it given the revelations of cheating. This Squid guy seems pretty sociopathic based on his hubris, his level of indifference toward cheating, and his insane attempts to rationalize all of it/manipulate those in his stable with the US/North Korea comment.

Reading this thread may be a chore, but worth it when you realize the mentality you are competing against.

RTA is so easy to get nowadays you don't even need to put in the time and effort to build your own database. I mean you have websites (with dedicated threads on this very forum) that are selling this exact stuff advertising it as "GTO training". When it's as easy as a click and a swipe of the credit card away you better believe it's being used en masse. It's quickly turning into a case of use it or get left in the dust and with sites unable to police it this will steadily turn into a common practice.

One guy tells the truth ITT and gets ignored. If u play online and play by the rules it better be for amounts that don’t matter to you because you are giving up a huge edge to these RTA scumbags and there’s plenty of them

I think you're over-exaggerating how easy it is. If it was that easy, every reg out there would be doing it, right down to as low as 2nl.
