DamianLillard became Inactive (assuming disconnection)

TayTayBae continued to play and built his stack up to 30 Million before
DamianLillard got re connected.

What is the protocol here if this happened to you?

Would you sit out and wait for him to reconnect?
Do you contact support?
Or do you continue to play?

If for some reason DamianLillard didn't connect in time, TayTayBae would've got the whole stack and won the tourney.

I personally couldn't do it. I would definitely sit out, contact support and ask them to pause the tourney and then let them decide what should happen (if the other player can't reconnect) according to the rules, at least I'll sleep at night, surely it's tantamount to stealing?

I would expect my opponent to do the same if I got DC, and if they don't then they have to live with themselves.

I would take as many chips I can and assume my opponent would do the same.

I'd be hoping for the blinds to go up faster while literally clicking on the raise button 20 times before it comes up.

Very strange d/c. I had 80m and player had roughly 10m (15bb ish)

Connection was solid for 13 hours, within 2 minutes of HU connection to ACR crashed. The weird part about this is that upon the disconnection, norton antivirus decided it didn't like acr anymore and removed it entirely and made it unable to re-install. I was then frantically running around the house for my spare laptop charger at 7am.

I don't know if ACR server to the UK is vulnerable enough to DDOS or not. I don't know if there was a blip in their connection, I'm not a tech guy.

Main reason I dropped in was that I pleasantly received a call from ACR today asking about the disconnect and wanted to hear my side of what happened - I honestly didn't even talk to support after or anything, I really expected them to not want to know/care and I'd rather have forgotten about the disconnect altogether.

They are currently looking into the technical side of things.

ACR can get a lot of hate in general, on Twoplustwo especially of all places, so wanted to post that I'm really happy that THEY approached ME to speak about it all. So it's only fair I post this for some balance.

All in all the disconnect cost me $15k ish in EV (removing any edges, as a pure chip/$ev)

I'll leave an update again if anything comes of this.

If you're playing 2.5k tourneys you should really have a backup internet connection.

You should also have uninstalled norton antivirus right then and there.

If you play tourneys on ACR you're basically asking for this. You're almost garunteed to run into connections issues. Cash only for WPN imo or you will get **** on by disconnects.

Also, I was at a $109, 50k OSS event FT CL w a 3:1 CL over 2nd and 3rd and DC, as well, late into the night (I assume at the same time). I was able to connect, relatively, promptly and get back to the table, but I know I missed a several orbits in which the two guys, who were extremely tight (which is important because they only focused on laddering), took turns stealing my blinds. I ended up taking 3rd after several all ins over realized their ev and took 5.4k instead of any ladders. I didn't even think of this until the thread started. Not saying I took 3rd because of the DC and not saying I didn't. The all ins, which doubled the shorties was certainly a big factor. Just saying. Not nearly as big a deal as the MDS, so i certainly hope he would get what he deserves.

Yea there are good people out there tooo! I know people like you, you think the only reason people do good thing is to look good. Doing the right thing is hard, but some of us like to sleep at night.

It sucks, but it's online poker. Internet/computer malfunctions are part of the game. I'm not going to torch money because they are having issues.

The only way I could justify stealing the opponents blinds if he disconnects is that you should be better prepared if playing online poker.

Surely in this day and age you would have back up. For crying out loud, every modern mobile phone has a hotspot.

I know if I was on a final table (especially higher stakes) you would have your hotspot turned on, I also have mobile broadband stick that I would turn on, would only take a few seconds to disconnect and reconnect with a different device.

So therefore I would still give the opponent some lee way to reconnect, contact support and if after say 5 minutes, then bad luck for the opponent.
