Game over. This would be catastrophic if Hansen loses this with such a big lead

Since both are looking to play the Main Event, the earliest for match #3 appears to be 7pm Friday.

this

I'm far from qualified to judge HS HU, but I'm certain that there is way too much Gus bashing going on.
From the little I've read I gather his 9 mega downswing began in early 2009. Hasn't Durrrr twice lost 5 mil since then and Blom 8?
If his play is obv lol bad, excuse me, but why is it bad if so?
I'm a winning lag, conscious of my leaks who constantly gets abuse and advice from losing tags.
When I adapt my game to plug these "leaks" my winrate drops. Is this the case for Gus? He's a clever guy who counts a lot of pros and excellent coaches as his friends.

(Yeah, that set->flush hand was terribad, I know)

Anyways,
gogogo

Hansen & Collopy Tied with 1 Round to Go

So, after 12 long hours, we have failed to find a winner.

Gus Hansen and Jim Collopy's first match of the final was a swift and largely one-sided affair for Hansen, and for a while it looked as though the second one was going to go his way too. But Collopy is good at working his way back from a short stack - he did it earlier today in his semi final against Ram Vaswani as well - and his patience paid off in the shape of a second shot at this bracelet.

Nobody expected today to take quite so long, and so tomorrow's final final, as it were, is still an unknown quantity. Both players want to play the Main Event, so the plan at the moment is for everyone to make it to the casino for noon, and then they'll figure it out as they go along.

Though it's been long, it hasn't had a moment of dullness. Believe us, you don't want to miss the final instalment of this heads-up show. We'll be back tomorrow at an as yet undetermined bat time.

Gus is a great tourney player, and a high stakes cash fish. Durrrr knows this. Nothing has changed.

it upsets me to know that collopy has a chance to win after sucking out 4 times. i think this should be an example of how luck is the main factor in poker.

we'll see if gus can stay focused tomorrow

wins K9 vs A7

Wins AQ vs KK

wins 99 vs QQ

getting Cada flashbacks.
Seems Pretty focused to me!

Gus out played Collopy all day today. I think Gus will figure out how to drop the hammer tomorrow. He totally deserves this.

MTT donkaments test different skill sets than HS cash, agreed.
HS HU tourneys only vary slightly from HS HU cash imo

Or he realizes that just because Gus is a loser at online nosebleeds against the top 10 players in the world, he wont necessarily get owned by any rando

Also he should have a psychological edge here, as he's way more expirienced in situations like that than the other guy, so I like durrrs side here

I went to bed expecting to wake up and see news that Gus has won a bracelet. Instead some luckbox kid has sucked out on him 3 times and it's tied.. wtf?

Real question is, what odds was Durrrr given to be on Gus?

When Skilled_sox played in the 25k WCOOP or whatever it was last year he said that cash game players had an advantage over HUSNG grinders because the structure is so much deeper than a normal HUSNG and plays more like a cash game. In the WSOPE you don't end up with 30bb's after 3 blind levels if you keep your starting stack...

Maybe because hourly winrates at $100 HUSNGs are million times higher? Eg. 2-tabling $108 turbos at ongame you make $50/hr just with rakeback even if you break even.

If you are 2-tabling NL50 you have to win something like 30bb/100 to make as much as $100 donkament regs make just with their rakeback.

omg, this can't be real?!? How many games do you have to play in order to make $50/hr on rakeback alone playing $108 games?

lets sat its $5 rake and assume you get 40% rakeback. Thats $2 per game so 25 games.
