I am jealous of Trickett. The guy was only in the tournament because he has a rich friend. And got 50% of the winnings.. sigh

Even watching the live feed I could tell when he blatantly weak but people kept folding.. oh look, he has a pair of 3s on a board of 7 6 king 10 or whatever... even tho his bet of 2.5m into a pot of 6 was so clearly weak
If you complete documents before the tourney and nothing is witheld from you. Think its part of the US/UK tax treaty.

GOD I love Norman Chad, during the final table yesterday in the One Drop:

"Defending your blind, hardly ever works out, it's like marrying for money"

Hahahaha!

Hahaha, yes Norman was priceless as usual. He never did any live commentary so I guessed he thought he wouldn't be capable. Glad he changed his mind, he made my day! This is how the WSOP should be televised.

Lon: "The red chips are 50,000."
Norm: "At my final table, we never made it to the red chip.<sigh> Olivier, how many final tables have you made? Oh, you never made one right?"
Olivier. "No, never."
<big laughter>

How can that be?? I have not much clue about taxes, but what has the government to do with my winnings at a poker table. I paid myself into the tournament (or found backers, whatever), how did they support me so they can expect something in return? And then THAT amount, it's ridiculous. When is this insanity gonna stop?

@KansasCT: He was a guest during last year's Main Event coverage for maybe half an hour, but he never sat through an entire broadcast as a co-commentator.

Trickett has a sponsorship deal with an online site in the UK. They paid for it. I think he get to keep almost all of his winnings ... So sick ...

Let's say you're from country like malaysia, tunisia or something .. A country where u pay no taxes for gambling and that has no deal with the U.S government about that kind of things. U still get to pay 30% and then what ? U fly home and how to u get ur 30% back ?

It says here that he gets 50% of profit, of which James Bord (MATCHBOOK) put up the full $1m himself, just like he puts all the money in the macau games for Sam.

This sounds like he probably doesn't want the world to know that he is only getting 15% of 18 million, sounds good to me.

Is it just me, or did the One Drop take away and destroy all excitement for the other WSOP events?

To be honest I still like the main event much better....

The winner becomes rich overnight...

In the one drop it was just going make sort of rich poker players a little richer...not really life changing like the main event can be...

Why would you read anything five times? Search "Trickett", move on with your life.

+1

This was more like a sit-n-go for the rich. Still looking forward to the ME.

Yeah Trickett was so awful, that he managed to reach the final table in a $1 million tournament against some of the best pros in the World, and finish in 2nd place.

Final days? Sorry dude, you won't see any action before the final table. Unless you are speaking of the weekly 90 minute recaps with like 15-20 hands of the entire day. They were golden before the times of broadband internet. This year they streamed every day of the One Drop live and it was a ball (except for the ones who reported problems with Veetle). Now the Main Event is coming and we ain't gonna see anything? I read somewhere that an official said last year's ESPN live coverage was a huge success. Seems to be proven untrue. But why the heck don't they show the action on WSOP.com like they did with the One Drop? The camera's are rolling anyway. This is unreasonable. Man, I so want to be the commissioner of the WSOP. Trust me I would revert this thing to its glory.

Antonio only said that he had sold some pieces, but also invested a lot on himself. That's all.
