This does somewhat give me the vibe of people with a lot of money who've bought a new plaything and just wants to have some fun with it, but I suck at reading people so nevermind me.

Some bans I'm sure could and should be lifted, but I'm sure 90%+ of them had good reasons and they should at least be reviewed before being removed - same with marketplace restrictions - I'm sure some can be improved/removed but they're mostly there for a reason.

I've frequently disagreed with individual decisions the Powers That Be have made here, but overall they've kept a good balance and it's why it's lasted so long.
I'm an optimist by nature, so hoping things turn out alright - just please don't turn this place into an anything-goes site like NeverWinPoker.

Guessing most who are still around are so because they like this place as it is and as it has been - I doubt there are many forums out there with so many posters who've been around for so long. I stopped playing poker many years ago, but I love this place so much I still hang around and check the forums daily.

Finally - the 'slick'-theme here is the best on any forum ever, so please keep that as an option in some form whatever changes happen

People keep asking how they’re going to monetize the site. I’m sure their plan is the same Mason’s was when he started it. It’s a platform to sell their other merchandise. Mason started it to spark interest and discussion in poker knowing it would lead to increased book sales.

This guy developed some sort of poker software. He’s hoping he can spark interest and discussion in his software. Maybe it will work, maybe it won’t. If it doesn’t, he’ll data mine/web scrape and consider banner ads again just for poops and giggles.

This is not what free speech is about.

Free speech is about creating discourse where every voice and opinion has an opportunity to be shared without prior prejudice. The intention is to avoid an oppressive authoritarian society where the individual(s) have no say in change.

What the first amendment wasn’t intended to be was a rallying cry for losers who can’t accept their selfish opinions only benefit themselves and are thus invalid for the country at large, so rather than changing these selfish opinions they cry foul and instead pretend to rewrite the rules so it fits their agenda.

It’s so pathetic an entire faction of the population has no merit, nothing of substance to share in the discourse, that rather than adding value they hedge and pervert the constitution to make themselves feel better by saving, ‘the first amendment guarantees free speech, that means you have to listen to meeee!’ ****ing wankers.

Oh jeez, my bad... I don't frequent the Marketplace, so when he said it would become "free," I literally figured it meant there were fees involved for certain posts (e.g. like the classified section in newspapers).
