What dataset are you talking about? Publicly available posts?

The link is this thread. I’m not doing the work for you to find it. They also said they wouldn’t be selling the user lists which, I assume, is the dataset you’re referring to.

I honestly have no idea about that area of business I was just making **** up. But data is super valuable right? What else does this place have. It would be more linking your unique advertiser ID to the fact that you gamble or gambled once and selling it to draft kings.

Also I sent your posts linking tweets in oot corona thread to my anti vax friend and he’s getting his shot Saturday.

This place has the target market for the new owner’s software. I think they bought it as a platform to sell their own stuff. Just my guess, though.

Also the way you make money from discord is paid memberships to certain channels. Ain’t no one from NVG putting down a credit card to do two plus two.

The NFT of the old viral Youtube video of "Charlie Bit My Finger" sold for nearly a million dollars. I have helped some photographers navigate that space and helped them sell some of their works for essentially 5 figures when at a festival they would be lucky to sell it for fifty or a hundred bucks. "This makes no sense" does make sense when one considers buyers that have made an excess amount of money from crypto and have no concerns splashing it around, so the trick is creating a product that can work through the system, get it to the buyers and then be of interest to that buyer, and do it quickly, because good chance that market and those opportunities will not last forever.

Thus, when the new owners said that the first thing they wanted to do was take down banner ads and then they did it - that pretty much answered the question of why they wanted to buy the site from my perspective. It was fun for them to own. There is no way to turn a forum that has not changed in decades into the next spot for 21 year olds to visit, but it can be fun to own a piece of online poker history, so they bought it. 2+2 bit their finger. Makes sense when looked at from that angle, even if the "how does this make enough money for that price" part never quite adds up.
I could see this being the case. Anything other than what they claim "In the years to come, we are going to build an AI-powered forum platform for the future". Like wtf.. somehow they're going to turn a dying industry and a dying format (forums) into something extremely profitable ? All the while already removing pretty much their only revenue stream (banners). There's definitely something more going on here , whether it's nefarious or not (I'm sure it's not). But either they're selling the info, or it's just some sort of "hey this is cool and wouldn't it be nice to Say we own it" type thing.

The concept posted earlier that it had been claimed flu vaccines were ineffective is abjectly false. And that's not changing. It's medical disinformation worthy of being deleted by moderation.

Cdc lists flu shot effectiveness for 18-19 season at 29%. Perhaps your post should be deleted for misinformation?

But that isn't what is happening here.

For the most part, people of your mindset spend a few seconds posting things they heard and then leave it to other people to do the heavy lifting to prove it untrue.

When proven untrue the low effort poster will usually either ignore or feign ignorance, 'oh, ok it was just something I heard.'

Generally the next step is more no effort posting of things they've heard which requires minimum 10x the effort to debunk.

It's a war of attrition that the low effort poster will eventual win. Without fairly strict moderation the platform becomes a cesspool.

In my experience 99% of the time someone claims free discussion is being stifled by SJW snowflakes/Marxists/libtards/etc it's either what I've described above or some racist/sexist bullshit that they somehow don't think is racist/sexist.
so much this. That's their whole agenda, just shovel mountains and mountains of **** because it takes 10x as long to respond to some stupid claim than it does for them to come up with it, and then when it's shown to be **** it still doesn't matter because whatever or you get the "hey, I'm just asking questions!" nonsense.

Then they turn into huge snowflakes if their harmful falsehoods aren't allowed to stand, and they cry all over the internet about leftist tech giants and moderators and how there is no free speech anymore. Meanwhile any platform they create to echo chamber their nonsense implodes on itself because a sizeable portion of people who think the same way they do about lots of this stuff are also disgusting, vile humans and no one wants to be around any of that, so they always come running back to the same platforms they say they can't stand, because they have a victim complex and need to feel persecuted and wronged.

So politics are now allowed in NVG?

I’ve been reporting political posts in a non-politics zone but it seems it’s all good to go now. That should ruin NVG pretty quickly. GG 2+2.

The new owners opened this thread in NVG and asked for feedback (though they asked for feedback to be placed in another thread in another forum).

So this thread is a hodge-podge of stuff related to 2+2. While politics is prohibited in NVG, this thread seems to have multiple purposes and is therefore very lightly moderated.

Typical response from R*R, probably the worst mod on 2+2.

Can already guess your reply to this, it will be a combination of threats to ban (but he makes sure he does that in PMs), false accusations and a sprinkling of some sanctimonious bs.

Its bad form to post PMs right?

And yet, totally correct.

If you have a beef with a moderator, there's a thread for that.

Or I guess you can just continue in here, as there are a bunch of posters who seem intent on making this a general random thoughts thread.

Bobo, the OP topic is pretty general and does not necessarily relate to mods....

Juk
No, I was too little. I played my first hand of poker in 2004 and my first online poker site was Paradise Poker in either late 2004 or 2005. I recall studying hand charts and attempting to win a car ( their was a free roll for a car) and later winning dollars on free rolls there. I also played on ultimate bet. I was not old enough to play in the wsop until 2007 which I regret.

As far as I know that was my softest playing experience. I do wonder what the absolute peak softness was, just guessing off hearsay probably party poker and pacific poker 2003-2004 but I surely don’t know.

To add some more blah blah blah to it (cross posted from the ATF thread):

You asked how to make this forum better and what to change:

Not giving the title 'Administrator' to David Sklansky, a guy who should instead be labeled a child predator would be a good start!

Here's his own defense for preying on a 16yr old run-away while being in his 50's:
https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/7...out-saura-722/

Then you could read up on a young girl (Brandi Hawbaker) who commited suicide after being 'mentored' by creepy David.
See Mason's take on David at the time: https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/s...&postcount=116 (see point 3)

The list goes on (just search google)

These topics were not to be mentioned anymore in recent years under the old ownership but hopefully this can now be rectified.

This person should in no way be a representative of your website!

Beep Bob!

Not the vaccine modified to protect against the dominant strain of that particular flu season, H3N2. Flu vaccines undergo constant tweaking based on virus surveillance data.

So what near universally accepted scientific knowledge changed?
