I gather you didn't read the post I suggested to you earlier?

Do we have any more clarity on a WSOP schedule release other than "sometime this summer?"

Need to know which weekends to ask off in October!

Would have to see how the pandemic is at that point, but in order for that to happen they would have to be only testing people that make final tables? It definitely becomes a dilemma as I don't think the WSOP could willingly let a known positive case sit at a table and put their dealers, floor people, etc... at risk whether the other players care or not.

We just returned from two weeks in Ft. Lauderdale and playing in some of the Hollywood Hard Rock series.

The place was jam packed and a zoo. Long Lists and waits. As others have said, 8 handed and Plexiglass.

The Big Easy was also very busy. No Plexiglass but you had to wear a Mask.

Dania Beach Casino had Plexiglass and required Masks.

There were lots and lots of people playing cards and the Hard Rock casino was very busy as was the Pool.

huh? why do you have to test for the final table? You've been playing all week at a full table in a crowded room but now all of a sudden you have to test the final nine players? Other players, dealers, floor people are always assuming their own risk.

I agree 100%. The post that I was quoting was saying they wouldn't play if you could test positive and get DQ'ed for a final table, which to me could only mean there would be testing for a final table. I was simply reacting to fact that the WSOP could not knowingly let someone that is COVID positive participate for the safety of their own employees.

Okay gotcha

In general the premise of testing would be weird if there’s thousands of people walking around all over but you only test a few poker players

I think this is the 1st state in the US to do this with casinos.

COVID restrictions will be lifted from all MS casinos, including the mask mandate

"The Mississippi Gaming Commission announced Thursday it is rescinding all of the coronavirus restrictions in place since March 4 for casinos across the state, including the requirement that employees and visitors must wear masks.

The order becomes effective at 5 p.m. Friday, April 30.

“All licensed operators shall continue to abide by any state and local rules or ordinances pertaining to COVID-19,” the order said."

Im not gonna lie.. i wouldn't feel comfortable playing poker without masks, at least not yet and definitely not in a place like Mississippi.

Im totally fine to eliminate plastic barriers and even playing a full table... but 9 handed without masks and knowing poker players history for public hygiene. Pass for me

Lol this dirty MS people, where should I go to play with squeaky clean players, Commerce?

On another note, I know people here say handling the dirty chips are safe, but that doesn’t pass the logic test for me considering how long people are sitting there, how often they are touching their chips and their faces under the mask. If you are concerned about the no masks I wouldn’t sleep on the chips.

i mean if you're eating without washing your hands, sticking your fingers in your eyes nose or mouth etc then i'd be worried. chips are in fact filthy and even in normal times it's disgusting how many people eat with their bare hands at the table. but if you aren't an idiot you'll be fine handling chips.

I am vaccinated so I would just as soon not play with plexiglass or masks. Makes no sense if you can’t catch it or carry it, which the CDC has basically said, there’s a .008% chance of a break out infection, statistically it’s zero.

Yes - but the mask mandate restriction is staying in place which was my point. Unless and until the governor signs executive order removing it ,that restriction is staying in place going forward ,loosening the restrictions is a shell game ,the restrictions need to end in their entirety. This won’t happen without Governor.

lol I don't think anyone is an idiot just because they touch scratch their nose/mouth or otherwise touch their face, it's a habit. When people play many are constantly shuffling chips and then often touching their faces as a pacifying behavior.

They have to tell you handling the chips is okay, because there is no way around it. The game can't be played without passing around chips. I'm not a doomer and think we should get back to real normal sooner than later; I just call out something that makes no sense.

this a while back and pre-covid but gives a little insight into how some players and at least this pro feels about spreading stuff to others vs not staying at tables

More than half of eligible adults in the US are now vaccinated, so it would seem like most Americans actually -do- give a **** about Covid. What more do you want to ask of people after they take a vaccine that is like 99% effective?

Exactly. It's almost like some people doesn't want to get back to normal, but is fine with mask wearing etc. for the rest of their lives.
