Same way as investing in AMC right now, buy when shares are at what you hope is rock bottom?
I know someone in the donut/pastry shop business. They struggle because a large percentage of their revenue comes through meetings, business events and people getting a box of things for the office on their way to work. Nobody knows in what capacity that will return but they aren't overtly optimistic.
Fancier cake's been mostly relegated to a niche product for things like weddings for a while now. For everything else, cake had already been replaced by cupcakes, cake pops, mini cakes and other single serve options. Regular cakes just don't work outside of the at home setting anymore. We live a world where 7 people have 8 different dietary restrictions that you can't accommodate otherwise. When I was a kid, we brought a homemade cake to school on our birthday. At our son's school, they prohibit anything homemade and strongly encourage single serve items. I'm kinda surprised they aren't requiring items to be individually packed/wrapped yet.
