Any idea how much dealers typically make during the WSOP ? I'm assuming because of the shortage of dealers, they will get paid even more this year. I may consider flying to Vegas to deal for a couple months .

Caesars obviously. It's a simple supply / demand issue. I wouldn't Even be surprised if they were offering sign on bonuses for dealers.

they'll still pay dirt and just hire even worse dealers than usual if need be.

as an aside it's mind boggling that people are complaining about there not being a wsop schedule yet. this isn't close to a normal year, things are changing very fast and wsop has no idea whether or not they'll have international players.A few weeks ago we didn't even know how much longer we would have plexiglass for.

The WSOP has never been in the fall. The fall is a much more hectic time of year. Plans need to be set earlier to attend a fall WSOP. Getting off work is hard in the fall. Hotel rooms will be insanely expensive in Vegas. Large festivals, Large conventions, NFL games, and the list goes on of things going on in the fall in Vegas.

International players make up a small percentage of the volume of entrants at the WSOP. They are irrelevant for putting out the schedule. Regardless, the WSOP doesnt do many guarantees, and they already announced "The Reunion" with a 5 million guarantee which is pretty conservative. So there really is no good reason to hold back the release, as any schedule would be presumed as contingent. I expect one in the next few weeks if not sooner.

Local casinos offer $2500 + free dealer school right now for new hires. I doubt that would work out for the WSOP though.

The question is which scenario is worse for the WSOP:
1. They release a schedule now and if it doesn’t work out, they change or cancel.
2. They keep waiting and accept a growing list of “then maybe next year” of recreational players who were interested in going.

This was an option for them in the past, not anymore.

There are not enough workers anywhere right now.

With hotel rates 2-4x what WSOP players are used to paying, covid/travel/intl unknowns, vaccination/mask holy wars, and major staffing headaches, they should have skipped this off season WSOP, focused on / add new energy to the Circuit events and planned for a huge return Summer 2022.

2 obviously, because there's no scenarios where "it doesn't work out" anymore. Look at Vegas right now, these fields and rooms are blown out. COVID is done.

A few years ago they made the official buy-in $10K but ladies buy-in was $1K (for obvious reasons).

Seems like the June 15th release insider info was good. Now curious to see what the Venetian schedules.

Re: Thoughts about 2021 WSOP (tentatively scheduled 09/30 - 11/23)

Oh dang, looks like I need to make a decision on whether to go in mid Oct and play a bunch of mixed events, or go in mid Nov and play the Big Bet Mixed + some PLO events.

Anyone here played the Dealer's Choice event before? I haven't, was wondering what the games tend to err toward... i.e. do people mostly stick to NLHE, or is there a good mix?

My table in 2019 played one round of NLHE all of day one. Really table dependent though. Lots of LA players at my table who picked a lot of split pot draw games (these are really slow).

One guy, who clearly didn't know the rules on a bunch of games, just picked PLO every time and made it play as big as he possibly could. He bagged a lot of chips lol.
