I have spoken with his immediate family and have known since it all started yesterday. I lived with Chad for years and he was like a brother to me. And yes, some of his closest friends are posting details/leads. I am aware of everything that has happened leading up to this, and throughout this. However I am not personally going to post anything that isn't already posted elsewhere. I have known for a long time that Chad was not in a good place mentally and physically.

I guess walking around with the scarlet letter of being a sex offender didn't help his cause in making it in life. It surely defined his path. Poker is one of the few things he probably could do after that, but at least he did it well. Sad sometimes you don't get second chances in life. My read was he deserved one, even if I never would have been associated with a person with his image, sex offender or not.

TBH, I didn't know that....I always thought of him as a great player who probably was naturally gifted-didn't spend time adjusting, but eventually would adjust and succeed again.

Rape/sexual assault when he was 17 or 18. Think he did 7 years, I could be wrong on details of sentence though. I don't know the details of the case, so I can only judge what I saw of him. Everyone around him was aware of this, that's how I know.

His mind, the way he spoke, his passion for poker reminded me most of Vanessa Selbst. I don't think the few times I've seen him he wasn't going on and on about some hand or debating strategy. That's what I meant most about not being someone I would associate with, not just because of the way he looked. I try to talk about poker hands as little as possible to keep my own sanity.
