Great stuff.

Dylan

It would be cool if you could remember to post an update once this gets resolved.

Hi everyone.

A full week has passed and his sister has not heard from anyone yet. I got messages from a couple of people and replied to them with details. They relayed that information to Pokerstars and still nothing.
It cannot be that difficult to simply contact her and at least start the formal process.
I understand this is a delicate matter and it will not be fast or smooth but at least reach out to her.
The last time she heard from Pokerstars was in January 2020 and it was simply to inform her that " someone will contact you soon ". It's nearly 8 months after and still nothing.

Please out of respect for his family and the memory of Horveech , dedicate someone to take care of this.

They should be hearing from us today and the case has someone dedicated to it. Apologies for the delay this week, we needed input from a particular internal person who was tied up, but is now actively involved.

Thanks,
Dylan

as poker players we must always remember to keep our lives as balanced as our ranges; making sure we have friends, family, and loved ones that we know are there for us will help manage the downswings and isolation that inevitably befall every poker player at some point. I didn't know horveech, but he seems like a representation of what all of us could be or have been at some point, and even though i did not know him, i feel the loss of what is by all accounts a decent human. RIP horveech and thank you OP for helping bring awareness to the topic.

This is a weird thread bump.

I remembered this thread and got very sad again. I miss Horveech a lot and re-reading what I wrote somehow feels like it was written by someone else. I mean all of it still but it just feels weird now.
I miss him a lot and I guess i want others to remember him. He was an amazing person and truly impacted the lives of many.
I love you dude, I hope you welcome Bezos into space recently <3

i used to play a bit vs horveech back in the day. truth be told, i grew a dislike for his online persona. i guess the success and money that came to him at such a young age can easily inflate an ego, alongside whatever mental struggles he may have been going through. and there's something about playing online poker that turns some of my closest friends into keyboard warriors, too.

then i remember spotting him at the players' party after EPT barcelona. went up to meet him irl, fully ready and expecting to come across an arrogant, abrasive kid. i was almost disappointed at how calm, friendly and likeable he was. our groups of friends shared some laughs and drinks. maybe you were even there.

anyway, the point of this post isn't to draw attention to any negatives. hopefully you'll even smile thinking back to when he came up through small-mid stakes, firing shots at and pissing off all the other regs. but behind the avatar there was a kind human that clearly had a very positive effect on a lot of people's lives and is sorely missed.

i wish you and anyone else that knew him all the best and i'm so sorry for your loss.

update?

kind of eerie to see that horVeech was logged in on the day he took his own life. if only he'd reached out and potentially gotten the help he needed! very sad. RIP!

I can confirm that this was taken care of in the end.

It has been a while but I decided to revisit this painful memory. I still blame myself from time to time & a part of me knows I did my best.

I provided some extra information on twitter to what made this so difficult. I never shared this information with anyone because I did not want to feel those emotions.

I think some of his friends should know the details as they may also still be struggling with what happened.
