- You must start your playing session from an empty computer desktop, whereby you initiate the PokerStars client and log into your account
- After logging in, you must play a regular session of yours
- Your playing session at the tables must be for a minimum of 70 active minutes
- During your play at the tables, the recording must be of sufficient quality to see and track the activities that are taking place on your desktop. In addition, the recording must capture your surrounding environment including your monitor, keyboard, mouse and the movement of your hands
- Audio must be included in the recording
- You must minimise the amount of individual video files. Longer, continual recordings are preferred
- You have 10 days to complete this task

It is important that your playing session is conducted in the same manner as one of your typical sessions as your tendencies will be contrasted with your regular play.

You must supply the resulting recording to us via email. In the likely event the files exceed attachment limits, please utilise file sharing services such as Dropbox, Google Drive or whichever service you prefer. We'll largely leave this option up to you.

Failure to follow these instructions or if the video is of sub-par quality, will result in this task needing to be repeated."

Also, they're keeping the balance hostage unless you complete this video to their liking. It's so gross because they have way too much power here. They know the mac ID of your keyboard and mouse, they can look at your screen, they can see any programs running at all times, they can track your mouse movements/clicks etc. and now they want a video of people playing in their home. I think it's going too far as an invasion of privacy and it's like "jump through these hoops to keep your $ that's yours." And you just have to do whatever they say or you're ****ed. I suppose you like the government listening in on your phone calls because they might sniff out a terrorist threat? Or would you like them being able to show up unannounced to your house and check things out on a whim? Where do you draw the line? Yeah I get it's a decent way to stop people cheating but it's certainly not fullproof and I think it crosses the line. Seriously guys I get that everyone knows someone that in a curious/selfish way they might want this measure taken against but look at the big picture here.

I really doubt they could keep one's $ legally if they refused to do this. I mean they can't make you gamble on their command right? I understand banning one's account but not keeping the $.

For real this **** is vile.

I agree as long as this is only for longterm winning players I welcome it. I wouldn't have a problem doing these tasks.

If those veteran players do comply and are found to be playing within the rules of the site then they should be comped accordingly and have an official apology of some kind.
On the flip side, it will be very interesting indeed to see the results of these security tests when there is a large sample size of them completed.

re: Pokerstars account check - record a session.

Was prob going to make an NVG thread on this soon.

Not that it matters, but PS didn't send this to me. I don't have anything to hide personally and there is no doubt I'd "pass" if it was all legitimate. The person this email is to is another high stakes player that is currently going through this. In fact I know of a few players who have now been told to do this. Its all players people know are NOT bots... Imo it is related to their new ToS.

As I have mentioned I think it's a gross invasion of privacy and clearly crosses the line. It's only particularly effective if someone is a legit true bot. I mean, I get why it's tempting to say this is ok but PS already has way too much power as is. Look at the big picture here, it's just going to get worse if we as a community say yeah this is ok they can request a video of you playing in your surroundings anytime they want. It's just a super easy piece of leverage for them to do and justify whatever they want. I feel really uncomfortable keeping 6 figures on stars knowing that at any point in time, whenever they feel like, they can come to me with this bull**** and my account/balance is at the mercy of whatever some PS security person decides.

Also please don't make the assumption that the smartest people at pokerstars are going to be the ones deciding your accounts/$ fate. You could have some reasonably stupid people working there making the decision. I mean amaya is cutting costs in other places why not with quality of staff?

One thing we need clarification on is whether they are going to keep funds if one doesn't comply with their videos.

The player I know asked them and this was their response:

[I"Please note that we are unable to release any of your funds until the investigation on your account is completed. This is a standard procedure for any account under investigation.[/I]

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you and thank you for your cooperation."

It should certainly be, and made clear from the get go, that one doesn't have to partake in the video and their funds will be released. Whether PS bans someone is up to them but "gamble with these {xyz} requirements on video, or you lose your balance" is clearly absurdly ****ed.

Whoever is ok with this is also ok with your govt listening in on your phone calls whenever they want right? Cops pulling you over not telling you why and checking things out? Random patodwn searches? Searches of your house?

or freeze their 6 figures rolls and after months pay them back with no interest

how much interest amaya can have just delaying big cashouts?

This all depends on who the emails are sent to. If it's legitimately suspected cheaters, with reasonably strong evidence, then great. If they're firing off lots of them on a whim then it's bad.

To whoever just changed the title, I don't think that's an appropriate change as this simply isn't just determining if a player is a bot.

From PS:

"We are in the process of reviewing certain accounts to ensure compliance with our rules regarding:

- Advice provided by a software tool
- Advanced reference material
- Advice provided by a coach"

re: Pokerstars account check - record a session.

The only way it's not outrageous is if there's enough suspicion of cheating for an account to be closed but not the hard proof that should be required for confiscating funds. Then the offer could be extended to the player in order to still be welcomed to play on the site, with them getting their funds back and account locked otherwise.

You can't use someone's unwillingness to record themselves playing as evidence of them cheating. Well you can, but it's shady af.

I really think stars should have TOTAL access to our computer screen, I dont have anything to hide and dont care if some stars employee watches the porn I jerk to

This would solve all ghosting, bots etc problems

(this is not a troll, I really think this is right)

I think its an important distinction. This isn't just about hunting bots. People who clearly aren't bots are being told to do this.

they cant detect any of theese if a human with half brain records a video, thats not like they hiddenly recording a random session big brother style. makes 0 sense to me, its more likely messing with high profile players, maybe one of those awesome changes Danny Negano mentioned for 2016.

it`s the wrong attitude. You can give up your privacy, fine, but I do not want to.

This is so wrong from a privacy perspective. I also don t have to hide anything, that still does not mean I want some random employee from a different country to have access to all on my computer.

The result would be to have a computer only for poker or donīt play poker at all.
Imagine what most recreational players would choose if the word gets out AMAYA has access to all data on your computer?
