So yeah, there is not only a specific rule against what you did, the first rule pretty much covers it without having to get specific. The world doesn't have to put up with your rude sexism, so if you want to be part of 2+2, I'd leave those thoughts unposted. I'm not a mod ITF, but if you post anything like that in any forum I mod, I'd definitely infract and/or ban (even without this history), and based clearly NVG feels the same way.

I completely understand the closure of the Brad Booth thread as there have been so many posts by absolute ****wits, but I would like to argue that it would’ve been better to just delete and ban those posters. Closing the thread just means that it drops down into oblivion.

If the exposure of the thread has any help in him being found, that can only be a good thing.

I understand your position completely but I wanted to avoid banning folks over borderline issues, and avoid the no-content "any news?" bumps

To handle your concern about it disappearing, I added it to the stuck threads and will leave it there for at least a month or if new info comes in.

I support your decision. Another reason to lock the thread is that, while we don't know for sure, I suspect that Brad Booth has probably had a tough time. So, why makes things worse for him by keeping the thread open in case he comes here to read the thread.

i got a 3 day ban for politarding in nvg, which is fair, no politics in nvg, got it. but the guy who i replied to didn't get banned and his post is still up.

I personally enjoy the thread. But many do not and it is not they types of thread that is NVG material. He is welcome to start a thread in House of Blogs but not in NVG. Sorry about that.

By way of an explanation to those that saw my post that backfired badly in an NVG thread, (so I have deleted it and the posts that mentioned it, with my apologies for causing unintended upset), I was trying to reference the joke that is regarded in the UK as one of the best ever questions to a celebrity on a TV show:
