Proper full affordability checks (like you do for a mortgage) were never happening in this industry...and it was never even remotely close. The logistics, costs, training, regulation, compliance etc etc would have made it a total non-starter. (unless the aim is/was to kill the industry by the back door).
What you would have got would be a laissez faire, make-it-up-as-you go-along approach, with no fixed standard between providers...and that would have been a ton of hassle with very little real value or purpose.
It seems the penny has dropped; common-sense kicked in somewhere, by someone.
The elephant in the room is what will the ongoing review will bring forth.
I think we are not out of the woods yet there is still potential for them to ban certain games in poker possibly hyper turbo formats spin and goes etc seem to highlight some things they want to go after.
also credit checks are still on the cards so like if you owe money on a credit card got a loan for a car, have some form of overdraft or defaulted on a payment for your phone contract this could seriously potentially limit your ability to gamble. I have an overdraft but I could clear it quickly by withdrawing from isa just dont want to guess worry about that when I know more. Hopefully student loan wouldnt affect this.
staking limits is also a worry I emptied my account on coral and moved the money to another site recently when I heard coral were going to implement staking limits.
leave heads up hypers and spin and goes alone let me play as many of them as I like without restrictions and I will be fine. I dont need to deposit multiple times a single deposit if fine for me So I will just grind up what I got and go from there.
I guess I could ask whether there is a threat here and some people could reassure me for anxietys sake and some others could predict the sky falling on our heads because they dont like what GG poker are doing (just dont play there play somewhere else) they dont represent the entire online poker world.
However the truth is no one really knows until they come out with it I guess the question until then is when will we know?
