It seems like every person living outside of the US feels the need to promote their home town as the best poker safe haven on the planet. Why is that?

It's probably same reason that it seems like every person living outside of the US feels the need to put down the USA with quips like "You must not read the newspaper very often."...?

BOOM, a feature length documentary about the poker boom produced by Jay Rosenkrantz and Taylor Caby, is currently seeking subjects who have decided to move out of the US to continue their career as an online poker pro. If you're interested in sharing your story on camera, please PM me or contact us through our FB/Twitter sites. Thanks, and good luck.

Has anybody successfully been able to change their FT address yet? I know it has been done at stars, and FT has confirmed we will be able to, but it doesn't seem like we can yet. If anybody has, the requirements and timeframe for the change would be greatly appreciated

I've done it with Stars, but with Tilt' stellar track record for customer support I imagine this will take some time

Internet is alright. (I'm in San Antonio Coronal, which is a quiet suburb up on the mountain north of San Jose, about a ten dollar cab ride to the casinos)

I got the best plan available for cable which is 4 mg up and 1 down. When I get back I'll probably get a dish to go with it as well as the crappy wifi just in case. The government is letting a couple more companies in to compete so word is that there will be more options by the end of the year.

Ezcazu is baller, but to me looks just like any place in America, complete with Hooters and everything, not really my cup of tea to be honest. But I can see the appeal, it is nice there. I like my nice mountain house, cause it feels like a home and it's very cheap to stay here. I tend to avoid Americanization like the plague because it drives the prices of things up by a lot. But every once in a while I get a hankerin for KFC or a Big Mac or something and I cave lol.

I am prolly gonna get another house in Romocer and also got my man looking for beach properties but the internet is a bigger issue at the beach. We are about to enter rainy season and when they say rainy it ain't no joke. It's like God turned on the faucet full blast.

How many tables do you play? If more than 12 -- do you see a huge difference from the States? Good Luck down there..

Also, how are the games now? Easier? Harder? Don't see much of a difference?

Thanks for the information, really appreciated!

One reason I advise people to spend a little time at the beach then a little time in the hills before deciding or making big commitment. Each has it's pros and cons.

I only 6 table (lol I know I'm a pussy) and got this thing cleared just in time to go to the airport and fly home in a couple hours. So unfortunately I don't have the info or sample size to awnser either of these questions with any authority.

Be prepared, this is not the states and u will not get the blazing speed of Roadrunner etc. However I think it is good enough and the things you gain in terms of quality of life more then make up for the things you lose. In my case legal cali pot and In and Out Burger etc.

As a mathematical example, would it be +ev to only be able to 8 table if your cost of living is way less then the states? Only you can awnser this question.

(Ninja edit: I have heard from euro players the tourneys are harder now because people "call all in pre with j5 off" lol so take that for what you may. To me logic dictates it will be more gambly and softer)

Hold onto your hat for later in the rainy season when it really gets going... some roads are simply impassable at the height of the rainy season. I'd imagine Internet could potentially be affected too, depending on where you live/your provider.

What do you play on? PS or FT? Most importantly, how was it changing your address (complications, timeline)? Finally, how have your withdrawals been?

For anyone who has or knows someone who has successfully changed their address on Pokerstars to outside the US: How long did it take for Pokerstars to process this request? The last email I received from Pokerstars said they were sending my request to Management. That was a week ago & I still havent heard back from them.

Exactly the same for me. I sent a follow up request for a timeline and was told almost immediately that none could be provided. Some people have had their requests processed already, but there's no telling how long each one could take.

I don't know how many requests they are receiving, but I have to be honest I'm a little disappointed that they haven't managed to divert enough resources to speed this process up. You would think they would want to get these people back on the site as soon as possible because anyone who has moved countries to be able to continue playing is obviously a highly valued customer.

I'm really curious to know how highly they are prioritizing this issue, because the current wait time doesn't seem appropriate.

I'll be the first to acknowledge that they have a ton of crap to deal with at the moment, but I still think this should be as high a priority for them now as general customer service and vip support has been in the past. Getting these grinders back on the site is extremely important for both the site and the livelihood of some of their most valued customers.

It would be nice if we could at least get some indication as to how long we can expect to wait.
