Remember him from tv during the poker boom. Very sad. 52 is awfully young to pass away.

I never had any interactions with Layne, but I vividly remember a WPT final table from back in the day. Ivey was at the table too (possible Lederer?), and Layne was the only other player that came close to Ivey wrt aggression.

I also remember a cash game he played with the late, great, Jerry Buss. Layne was slightly buzzed and running over Jerry, who seemed to be loving every minute of it.

I saw him a few times over the years at the WSOP, usually playing high stakes PLO.

Def a huge fan of his, and very sorry to hear he’s passed at such a young age.

Hi Everyone:

I never knew Layne Flack but he was one of the top tournament players in the first part of the poker boom, and it's always sad to hear when someone dies this young.

RIP Layne.

Yes, there was a thread that was nuked - I suspect because it was a brand new poster so it might have looked like a lame RIP ___ joke thread. Nothing to do with new ownership. Further discussion of that (although I doubt there will be any) should go in the moderation thread.

Moving on...RIP Layne.

Layne and I were close for a period of time. Was always willing to lend an ear or give advice from his own lessons learned. He loved his daughter dearly and would often text when she was there to visit or when he got to spend time with her and you could tell he loved her very much! Shine on you Crazy Diamond. R.I.P Layne

RIP Layne, I remember the WPT final from back in the day and Jerry Buss being in awe of him when they played together on TV. Too young.

This person posted a good Layne Flack story from 2005. Layne was a true pro and from the responses from the long time players, very much loved. It was very sad to learn of his death at just 52. RIP

I met Layne at the bike during their yearly Tournament of Legends.
Layne had this energy about him that made me say “that’s what being a pro is really about”
I’m saying this in a good way
He was vibrant, lit the place up, you wanted to be around him, definitely party it up.

One of my favorite TV poker lines was Layne Flack and Mike Matusow, WPT Aruba 2004 as far as I can remember.

Matusow : Whatta ya got?

Flack: You beat.
