re: Landon Tice lays 9bb to Perkins: HU challenge

I'd bet on Landon at even odds that if they play 20k hands, Landon will win at least $720k (assuming the math is right that it's 9bb/100 over 20k hands). We know when they're starting?

Isn't Perkins a fish? How is he not going to get leveled? Landon is going to get a lot more study and is a much better player to start.

I realise this is a poker message board. But is there anyone who can see there is something foul about a young man, who at 21 should be learning how to work, study, build relationships with a wide range of people and generally orientate himself in the world. Instead playing a high stakes card game and giving away 90%+ of the profits to a couple of enabling slimeballs ?
You literally have no idea what you are talking about.

He's trying hard to be funny but isn't and is pretty cocky. Both normal for a young kid who has had some success. No hate for that.

Still wishing both business men to beat his ass. He wants to see some blood, let him have it. Him losing is the only way anyone get hurt.

Perkins’ end goal is to lock up everybody’s Pokershares money until eternity it appears.

Question is, after DNegs fail. Do Perkins still have such high belief in his boy MJPoker or whatever the guy is called, or will he go with buttonclickr or even Doug?

Intresting match up regardless, did it get mention anywhere what site this will be played on and if it will be rake free?

What's the actual deal?

Is there a payment to the winner over and above the money won over the table? They say he "gives" 9 bb/100 to bill, does that mean 1) he actually gives him the money or 2) it's only used to work out who "won" the challenge and gets the winners payment? Everyone is assuming 1) but if it's 2) then it changes a lot.

No, he's not giving him the money upfront. If Perkins were to lose 10bb/100, he gets 90% of his losses back from Landon.

Does 9bb/100 refer to ev/100 or real $?

And what´s the sidebet?

Perkins will be paid $36 per hand. No sidebets between the two participants.

You troll every thread so kinda pointless to reply, but just to point out, id say spotting a fish 9bb and 15bb winrate is the opposite of bumhunting, this is like finding free money and then finding someone random and deciding to just flip for the money instead of taking it all to yourself.

dude the guy is killing it, I am not sure where this 10% started I guess he has more but let's say he only has 10%.

he plays $20/40 vs fish even with these handicaps he probably is at least 5bb/100+ in ev.

so that's $2/hand he is playing heads up 2 tables?
so easy 300 hands/ hour that $600/H.
this is if he only has 10% of himself at that point he be 100% staked so he has no risk but his own time anyway.

probably the avg NVG tard that makes fun of him makes $20/H or less or is unemployed

Yeah, regardless if Bill still thinks he has an edge after the handicap, he's going to get bored of playing the same person in the same game for that long.

People are going to underestimate the likelihood of Bill quitting before 20k hands, and it isn't going to be fully priced into the line

neat trick by Landon, offering 9bb handicap, as it was some carefully crafted number - in reality, he likely has around 30bb edge, but since he used a specific number, people are wondering about wether 8 or 10 would be more fair

sure, Bill is much better now (would likely be close to 80-100bb loser as himself from his first tv poker appearances), but the edge a pro can have on a rec in hunl is massive. No idea how good Landon is actually, but this is more of a function of how bad Bill is

I hope they publish the some of the terms that are usually private in these kinds of challenge so people can know what they are getting into when they bet. They are paying BP 720k to play him so he can't just expect the kid that probably isn't worth that much to have that and the roll required to play sitting there for months while he goes on with his life.

The 9 bb/100 was talked down by Landon. BP suggested 15 or 20 bb at start.
BP won't be that bad in terms of theory by the time the match starts i think. He would probably be like a 15/20bb underdog at start, but as the match progresses he will quickly start to tire/tilt and play much worse.

Can't say i have much interest in this Landon isn't my cup of tea seems like the kind of guy who lives in his mums basement who will talk about his train set and Pokémon duvet set at the beach party , when you realise you have made a mistake inviting him when he stands in the corner rocking shouting number 9 hey each too there own . Gotta give him Kudos thou for putting the challenges out there .

I think Perkins and Rob will give him a run for his money or his backers money i should say But do i see Perkins or Rob winning nah can't see it . Rob and Perkins have life commitments and heaps of cash so maybe that desire isn't there to spend every waking moment in the lab , Landon in the lab 24/7 because he can and his hungry and not stinky rich , it does drive you , Any ways thats my waffle in good luck to whoever wins .

In the high stakes thread there are two elite players battling with steff having a 30bb/100 edge over limitless.

Very likely Landon can generate a similar edge over Perkins

Edges in hunl can be vast.
