Doesn't seem to be to popular amongst some of his peers.

Joe mckeehen winning this main would be the perfect microcosm of "life isn't fair" so many deserving ppl that get fcked in this game.

Played some with him this summer and last summer. He rubbed me the wrong way as well. Personally don't care for the guy at all.

My favorite Joe McKeehen moment:

Playing a $500 6max at borgata, and Joe takes an empty seat after his table broke. One of the rec players who was talking a bit having fun, says hey Joe! We played in x event last month, how have you been? Joe looks at him and says I play with a lot of people, so I don't remember you. Rec player got real quiet the rest of the time he was there.

I don't know him super well I just hope if he does win that he ends up being a good ambassador for the game.

How is this something that's good for the game? Don't you want the Rec players to feel comfortable?

Lol I was thinking exactly this. Joe would not be a good ambassador for the game...

Lol. Have been at same table as him several times. Never played a hand with him. He's not exactly the type of guy who is courteous to his customers.

Should have been out of ME long time ago. Luckbox who will get praise for being a "sicko" but really just runs good.

You're such a hater. Why aren't you crushing tournaments since they are so easy?

Undoubtedly he ran well but he is also a sicko imo. There are other criticisms of Joe that I think are maybe fair but he's pretty good at cards. (At least poker, can't vouch for his ability in Spades). Gl Joe.

Because I don't know how to win almost every all in, flip and repeatedly cooler people as is required to win tournaments? Only a dumbass respects tourney players as anything other than luckboxes.

gotta say i had a similar experience this summer. i said hi to him in hallway and he just stared at me for a second and said nothing. getting in "the zone" perhaps lol. but i know he's also real funny (and great at poker obviously) and i don't think he'll come across bad on TV

Think he's good, no idea about table behaviour.

Pretty sure he was world Risk champ at some point.

Played with Joe once in a Foxwoods series and he was very friendly. We're also same age and similar interests so that may have been why. He got real short and never once tried punting his stack even in a $300 side event. Everyone likes to comment on how well he runs but he's certainly one of the most improved players around. He's the real deal

It's not good for the game at all. I was just being hopeful that he was maybe having a bad day or something in this particular instance and is better than that. Sorry if my wording was a bit ambiguous by what I meant, my brain wasn't fully awake lol

Some serious hate in this thread. I played with him a while back in an mtt at tstone and seemed like a decent person. Bad ambassador of the game? The kid is a good poker player and his results show that. I'd rather see him as main event champ vs a joke of a player such as Jamie gold, yang, etc.

well the moneymaker effect was due to seeing the average joe win it. therefore a jamie gold/yang is much better then a poker pro/young kid win it. joke of a player winning it = more joke of a players entering the game thinking they can win it.

unless its one of your friends/horses in the nov 9 we should all be rooting for pierre. how great would in be for a new influx of 50+ year olds thinking this game is for them

You will see that in just about every thread on here. The guy could miss play 1 hand and then just get absolutely blasted by several people, most that have never met him. I am guessing some people are mad he busted Daniel. He even said he would have folded J3 if Daniel would have 3bet shipped his hand preflop.

Dang she won 8 30 person tournaments in a month. I think I've done something along those lines on about 10 different occasions.
