We will see for sure. Oh we will see.
Care to elaborate on your major issues with him? I assume they're substantial, as you seem to have some pretty strong feelings.

Simply put, Isai was a giant in our industry who treated everyone as well as possible. And for this we at Two Plus Two thank him.

Best wishes,

Thanks for sharing. I agree Isai was a great guy for poker.

If it really was all about the money, Pokerstars would've had it's own online casino years before Amaya decided to add one to the client.
Isai was all about the poker.

I was a double or nothing SNG reg in 2009/10 who achieved SNE in 2010 and was putting in heavy volume when the Chinese cheating ring was uncovered. Isai stepped in to make sure that the players received fair compensation and tbh, I believe I probably received MORE than I deserved when all was said and done. So huge thanks to Isai for that and running a stand up operation for so long. I wish he was still around.

black friday ruined alot of peoples lives. you have to remember that you could get like $100k+ in rakeback by making Super nova elite. once black friday happened that was over. But stars decided to keep things going and they flew people outside of the US and helped make **** happen

do you remember poker refugees?

anyway if isai helped stars do this then he is truly a hero.

Just for context, Black Friday was in 2011 and Supernova Elite ended at the end of 2015.

I‘m not 100% certain on the numbers but I think 2009 was the first year that over 200 players made SNE. That number almost doubled by 2012.

Pretty much this. Amaya somewhat ruined stars.

I should’ve clarified that I meant for American players

“Life ruined” is a pretty dramatic statement. Being unable to play poker on the internet doesn’t seem to cut it.

Black Friday would have easily had a net positive effect on American people’s lives, including most of those who initially regarded it as “life ruining”

all this 'if Isai helped stars' lines are funny. Isai made literally 100% of the decisions on PokerStars other than marketing stuff.

He created an environment where a person could realistically dream of becoming a pro player. Anyone who played on Stars felt like that site was there to aid that dream.

It still stands out as one of the best companies I have been a customer. From their customer service to their software, it was a pleasure to experience a small part of those glory days.

Many people had 100% of themselves on FTP and were making 60k a year plus from home

April 16th 2011 and that was over. And their money gone (for the time being)

Fair enough, it was a significant blow. Our definitions of life ruining may be different though . For many people it would of set them on a better path. Sometimes setbacks are like that

Be interesting to have Ike Haxton chime in here. If I recall, he has a lot of insight into the turn of events leading to PokerStars getting Fult Tilt's customers paid.

I worked at Stars for almost a decade pre and post Amaya. Isai and Mark were the eyes, ears, heart and soul of the company.

The ethos was pretty much do what is right, whether it was financially a beneficial resolution or not.

Never met him, so cannot comment. I was pretty much 'dead man walking' once Isai and the old guard were less involved.

I think everyone internally who had a clue or cared at all realised it was the end of PokerStars.

Yes, I believe this. 2013 fk as play money players we could transfer chips all day long, was sooo fun. Literally left click and give your friend chips. Great times. I still love PS as they merged with Full Tilt. Staying there as recreational player, love the site, been there awhile. I LOVE that site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only place I play on.

This. Anybody who spent time around Isai fully understands that he operates the way he does not because it makes more money, but because it's how he believes an upstanding person behaves. He plays the business game very hard, and tries to win, but never ever at the cost of his ethics, morals, or principles. And in fact, most of us have multiple stories of his spending money out of his pocket to stand behind those ethics, morals, and principles.

His contribution to poker can't be overstated, and imo, the WSOP Hall of Fame is a joke until Isai is in it.

Regards, Lee

I agree 100 percent but online poker has changed. No interaction, like zombies. I still play on PS but these new players want no interaction at the tables. We use to transfer play money chips on a hot second to other players, was so fun. People use actually do sit at at a table and chat. These new guys don't want it. They want no chat.

The glory days of watching High Stakes pros battles need to return. Fantastic days of poker!
