For those of you who disagree with me please explain why HSP is always talked about and Million Dollar Cash game is barely remembered and not mentioned at all?

MDCG had the most allstar lineups for (iirc) 5 seasons with combinations of the best players playing against each other never seen before. Why was the show garbage? Two idiots no one cares about talking nonstop for the entire show. Even if Lex or Schulman are more insightful this doesn't outweigh the banter the actual players at the table are having. Gabe was smart enough to realize when he should and shouldn't talk which was 90% of the time.

Please just have Jungleman and Luke Schwartz on every episode

The stuff that Gabe and AJ used to say was almost certainly loosely based on a script, but one of my favourite parts of HSP is going back and listening to some of the utter nonsense that Gabe used to come out with given what we know now (I mean that in a nice way). He'd say stuff like "Eli Elezra is reading Sammy really well in this hand". No Gabe, he's just an absolute ****in rofler who is clicking buttons for 6 figures.

I absolutely loved HSP, and I would love to see the old crowd back, even if deep down we all knew they had virtually 0% of themselves nowadays in a 300/600 game.

If there were one thing I could insist upon for the new HSP show it would have to be massive bundles of cash in everyone's stack

Will be a riot when they say 'This is high stakes poker!!!' and it's half the stakes pokergo normally streams.

I was thinking the same since it was announced.

Imo HSP had those good things:
- the highest stakes poker televised
- good lineup with great personalities
- great commentary
- side bets and gamble
- very good production
- broadcasted on a tv channel that reached non-poker player.

Now we have 500-1k games being streamed on Robs home game.
PADs with minimum 100/200 games.

We still have great lineups to be made and thats a positive thing.

Hope that we will be seeing side bets and some random gambling (it’s a must have) and things like 72 game.

Very good production is achievable too.

But I don’t think that it will succeed with the same commentary strategy. I mean... everyone who knows some poker don’t want to be listening nonsense comments on the hands and much of the poker audience nowadays are looking for insightfull comments that they can (think) apply on their games to get better (that being true or not).
So I don’t see how gabe and norm could be any good.

And the show will now be limited to an exclusive platform (that I love), but can’t reach ppl outside the community.

I just don’t have big expectations on this one, but hope I’m wrong about it.

Just another thing I won't be watching cuz it's behind a paywell..... Oh well.

As a nerd i like watching linuslove 3handed battles far more than HSP, but i can enjoy HSP from the gangster with no braincells perspective, it's good propaganda and it's what got me into poker.

No clue who/what that is but it sounds terribly boring.

Linus playing against Dwan would be pretty cool for nostalgia sake, pitting old school online against new school. And then adding in Tony G, Matt Kirk, etc would make for a great game. Gotta have a mix of GTO nerds and gamblers for sure.
