Have there been any instances of players actually getting their funds confiscated due to bumhunting?

At this point, it seems like they issue warnings. Maybe ban accounts. But that's all I've heard. It seems like GG simply 'reserves the right' to do so, but may not be enforcing the confiscation element.

as a rec player, I think this is great. predatory behaviour is one of the things killing the game. the rules are clear, whether you think they are fair, is frankly a matter of opinion. GG is a private business, they have no duty to provide you with the service you want. they confiscate funds for repeat offenders, otherwise, there is no deterrent.

too many 'pros' think they are owed a service by a platform, that their 'job' is being impacted by the decisions that the site makes to hurt them - when in fact the site understands the ecosystem far better than the 'pros'. in any other industry, you would seek alternative employment if you were unhappy with the working conidtions, not ***** and moan about it.

The fundamental principle of poker is the notion of fair play, and clear rules.

Confiscating player's balances for 'bum hunting' unless they've been put on notice that their behavior violates the site's rules is wrong.

You really can't see a difference between a player who will play most of the time because they think they are better than the general population, and someone who will only ever play if there is a complete whale (and usually only play if their script is faster than the other 20 people that usually end up on a wait list in the same situation), giving no action otherwise, and then instantly leaving when the whale has been stacked?

This of course would never happen, but the way to solve it, would be poker just becomes tournaments all the time. That way.. if you dont want to enter a $1 million gtee'd tournament because theres a good player in the pool Then fine, dont enter it. But I and people like you.. will be entering trying to win the money!

In any sport.. people have to play a team better than them. Like a Premier League team cannot refuse to play Manchester City and so on. But in poker people do.. they avoid people they dont want to play.

And lastly what does make me laugh is I hear of games where a bad player leaves and the whole table breaks... But its as if these people think theyre like the Roger Federer of the poker world or something. I bet theyre not even that good at poker themselves!

The problem is the games often become 6 regs at a table. GG is taking 50bb/100 rake at $1/$2 from the table and everyone is losing money but no one is allowed to leave because of the bumhunting rules.

Do you also get your BR confiscated for bumhunting tournaments?

I assume the warning came with the note that if you are caught doing it again, that they will confiscate your balance? If that's the case, I don't see the issue at all. They can have whatever rules they want as a private business.

The business is designed to generate rake, the business has huge expenses getting it to market, they are very upfront about who they do and don't want at their site. I believe 'pros' are welcome as long as they play by the rules set out by the site. and those rules are designed to prolong the life of rec players and therefore allow them to generate rake. its basic stuff honestly.

Haven't heard / read any mtt grinder having any issues no matter how much they win. It's the same situation with like stars and most likely any other site they hate winning cash regs. They want b/e losing players where the house is the only winner.

As a rep, he can say that, but unless we have confirmation from 'bums' I am not so certain. As well, if this was a highly publicized occurrence, they may have chosen to take the high road on this occasion to look good, but other confiscated funds might not quite get there.

They banned a lot of pro MTT players back when they had the daily 10k tournaments with unlimited reentries that had a lot of massive whales playing.

There was a ban wave after where about 40 or so people were banned, accused of using RTA. Apestyles was one of those players. I havent heard of MTT players being banned after that.

Unless we hear from those who got "bummed" that they didn't receive the moeny we can assume they did.

It seems that you and many others in this thread missed the part about them only confiscating funds for repeat offenders.

First time offenders get a warning/temp ban. If you do it again, you deserve to have your money taken for being an idiot.

Im a hobby player and Im winning at NL100 at stars. Just lol@ people playing "for a living" who have to bumhunt to win. Those people are exclusively nits and ruin the games for everyone else. Good on GG for chasing them off their site.

You do realise this behaviour is a product of absurdly high rake across all sites? It is nearly impossible to win at all reg lineups when you are paying like 10bb rake lol.

What exactly do you consider a real job? Its cool if you want to be a fun player nothing wrong with that but dont hate on others for trying to actually learn the game.

GG clearly gives zero ****s about pros as is their right

Confiscating funds seems to go way too far especially without warning but if they want to ban bum hunters anyone complaining is being silly
