Not just a regular Dodge Charger, a Hellcat. The story I read says he got it with a $30k down payment. The car should be at least $70k. Since it was easy money, maybe he got the Hellcat Redeye which is 797 horsepower. Doesn't get much better than that. He registered the vehicles to his mom. That's a good son, but I question whether momma wants to drive a 700+ horsepower street beast.

The police also confiscated a 3rd vehicle, although there were no details on that vehicle.

I got a safe installed in my house (im sure not adequate safe), then realised it was like conveniently gathering up all my cash and valuables into one place for any would be thieves. So i changed strat for cash in the house to leave a notional amount in the safe (decoy) and then split the rest into small amounts and scatter it around in various hiding spots...

First time I went away for 6 weeks I used about 7/8 little hiding spots and it took nearly 3 months to find it all - still not 100% I have found it all - then last time I went away I split it into 5/6 hiding spots left myself a little "coded" treasure map to find it all when I got back and took 4 weeks to figure out wtf the map meant and locate it. Cant imagine a thief finding it in a reasonable amount of time, but also a bit worried if i'm tied up being tortured and genuinely don't know where it is

The Daily Mail is a London tabloid. Their article included several pictures of Chad Powers, all making him look weird, whereas they could have chosen pictures that look totally normal. They also seemed to have picked the most extreme pictures of Brewer. It is probably "look at those crazy Americans".

Not to blame the victim, book looking at it like a poker hand, it does not seem well played to have $1 million in a safe in your house that can be carried out.

It is also interesting the Brewer is a member of a street gang and has a prior conviction for following home a poker player and robbing him. It is something to be aware of that there may be people looking to do this.

I don't play high stakes live cash games, and understand there may be difficulties with needing to handle large sums. I got a little concerned carrying a few thousand or driving home with more from a tournament cash.

With the Daily Mail, in Britain you wouldn't sit in a throne unless you were really king. They also are not so much into showing off money, as it just shows how low class you are. The story makes the readers feel better that even though they are poor they know their place and do not act like jerks like this American poker player and gang member / burglar.
