Played with Sarge at the Aria about 3 weeks back for a few nights in a row. This type of behavior DOES sound completely out of character, although it did seem like he was trying to feel "young again" by the way he was chatting with the young guys at the table. By the end of the day he'd even called his host and had a table booked for us at XS where myself, Jungleman, WGCRider and a few other players at the table joined him for the night.

I can see how that type of table talk would bother you, but at the end of the day, Sarge creates action/plays big pots with marginal holdings. Suck it up, put on your headphones and take advantage of the situation.

Hahahahahahahahaha, omg, sooo funny.. He was bragging about this except he apparently LIED and claimed he was at a super private game at an undisclosed house in Vegas where it was invite only and the game included a private party each night hosted at XS... He must have said "Jungleman" 30 times in 10 minutes. How pathetic, a 41 yr old dngling from the balls of a kid his daughter's age...

I remember he was acting like a moron and got into a fight got and got kicked out of the poker room and then some old timer with a mustache and cowboy hat said he was being an ahole because he was completely bust after losing lots of monies... Maybe he bust again?? Sound like he don't have squat figured out after 3+ yrs.. hhehehe maybe he figure it out by time he's 60??

It was probably mostly talk. Some wild stuff happens off duty, but on? And every day? Not very likely, unless the entire unit was corrupt.

This is what he was alluding to... Claiming they would do raids and come upon all kinds of cash and valuables and lots of "kids" in his unit would pocket the money while others would look the other way.. TOTAL DBAG

Oh, I'm sure your retelling of his story is accurate. I would just believe about 5% of it or less. Ridiculous movies the contrary, that's not the way the Army works.

Still, if he was that offensive, why don't you grab ahold of your nutsack and say something, or call the floor? Not that difficult to deal with, IMO.
I don't think grabbing somebody's nuts is gonna help anything. Horrible advice sir!

EXACTLY what I was thinking... I had a hard time believing the military wasn't super structured with extremely little chance of this type of activity, but according to "Sarge" there's all kinds of crazy stuff going on "over there"... He was claiming yong guns with "nothing to lose" snatch stuff up all the time.. He's probably full of it and craves attention so he makes up a bunch of stories to glamorize his pathetic existence...

Poker table used to be a place you could say just about anything and people would laugh it off. Sounds like my buddy Sarg was in rare form over the weekend.

In one hand, a guy blew off some steam at a poker table, in the other a guy blasts someone's reputation on the internet, complete with names and pictures.
Who's the bigger dbag? I'd like to have your name & photo, so I know who not to offend next time I'm in Reno.

In all honesty, I can imagine he was out of line, but there is a better way to deal with it IMO.

I doubt most war stories, but you would be surprised at how many were court marshalled for stealing in Iraq...that means even more got away with it.

There was a good 60 minutes on this topic maybe circa 2004 where one guy mailed his mother home a brick of cash.

Theft during war time is indeed an issue. Guy was still probably full of ****, though, and making up most of it or relating and exaggerating things he heard from others.
