Everyone should call the virus the thing they hate. So Trump and the deplorables can call it the "Chinese virus." Liberals will call it the "Trump virus." Iranians will call it the "Zionist virus." Indians will call it the "Pakistani virus" and vice versa. North Korea will call it the "American virus."

I think they are calling it the American virus in more places than North Korea. I think "China-America-Joint-Coöperation-Plague-With Support-From-Partner-Countries" still works best.

I think China needs to take accountability for its food and heath conditions, especially in their wet markets. Diseases can originate in any part of the world, but we should try our best to stop them from happening. It's not like China is a third-world country anymore. At the very least, they can stop eating bats, even if this disease didn't originate from one, they are wrought with diseases. That said, I don't know how calling it the China/Wuhan virus is going to solve that. It is probably having an adverse affect in that it will make China deny it even more.

It's also possible both Trump and the Chinese government are using each other as scapegoats while maintaining cordial relationships behind the scenes with plans to mend relations after the 2020 general election.

There will be a time to take China to account.
