Killing Americans in multiples is a thing people like to do, unfortunately.

Saudis still have the record as far as I know, but our homeboys are trying to catch up.

Ban guns?

The serious nature of the issue and respect for victims or those who know them doesn't mean we should treat the issue with silk gloves. However, two-word rhetorical questions and flame-bait is crass, disrespectful and juvenile.

It's the kind of noise that drones out serious and rational debate, which while far from the only factor (and perhaps not even a very big factor) is still one reason functional policy is hard to pass.

Whaley said if the police had not responded so quickly, “hundreds of people in the Oregon District could be dead today.”

What would the downside be to a gun buyback program and banning the sale of guns for a few years just to see the results? What if, by doing that, there were less mass shootings? Or just don’t allow white males to own guns anymore.

Having said that, it would take about 30 El Paso massacres to reach a death toll of the murders committed in Chicago and Detroit combined in one year. Not sure why only white folk should not be allowed to have guns.

After some research, I agree that I was perpetuating fake news.

Since 1982, 64% of mass shooters were White. 19% were Black. Relatively few mass shootings were racially motivated.

I stand corrected.
