This is absurd. The GOP's complicity in this carnage shouldn't be memory-holed away.

I moved this post to a new thread, as many posters wanted the Russia / Ukraine thread to be focused primarily on the ongoing conflict.

Going into 2022 and 2024 we should be seeing Trump calling Putin a genius and smart for attacking Ukraine on every billboard and every commercial in America non stop 24/7

Biden should call the Traitor out tonight and get the ball rolling. The orange pig has done and said many stupid and unlawful things that have not stuck but this could stick.

Even his idiot supporters will realize That Life in a free country is better than life in a country like Russia? They are always on about freedom so this could stick to their smooth brains a little bit

I think it has to be said (quietly) and recognized so hopefully it can be addressed for future generations.

Sadly the dumb are winning right now and they are set on making the next generation even dumber but trying to restrict history, burn books, and make the population as ignorant of history and facts as possible.

A trend I think we can see (no hyperbole) that might well undo the American empire as we see how dangerous Politicians become when they are willing to cater to the dumb and the lowest denominator to just gain power.

I think the concept of politicians coming to a realization they much do something for 'the greater good of all' is truly dead in America. And that is not just amongst GOP base derps. That applies to Biden and all the top dem politicians as well who gladly sell out any and all American policy positions to corporations knowing the harm they are subjecting the future generations too. Sad.

Lauren boebert needs to stop following Marjorie Taylor Greene's lead. I can't take either of them seriously anymore.

I have never once in my life donated money to a gop candidate and have only voted gop about 5% of the time. The things I like about Lauren boebert are:

She's so politically "unseasoned" she's unintentionally hilarious and often more honest than a typical congress person.
I often agree with the things she says from the left . for example i'm pro second amendment from a different perspective.
I like that she didn't graduate high school and got arrested a few times for frivolous stuff. I did complete high school but it was close since i skipped class about 60 days a year.
Also I know she's the type of person who 5 years from now is going to basically be uninvolved in politics. I'm personally happy someone like her got the chance to cash in on this stuff for her family.

But yeah more important stuff to worry about than Lauren boeberts political future. I try to read her twitter but she writes A lot of dumb stuff. She should just be herself rather than do grifter gop talking points.

My understanding. is the russian and ukrainian delegations have agreed to play a best of three dota 2 match for control of dnipro so I guess i'll watch it on steam.

Boebert is every bit the empty husk that MTG is, the only difference being MTG is the type of person who is so dumb she honestly cannot recognize how dumb she is and sounds and thus thinks she needs to speak first as she has important things to say.

Boebert is no smarter other than perhaps being self aware enough to not always speak first.

I am pretty sure the only reason anyone pays attention to Boebert is the Sarah Palin effect. She has that 'damaged' attractiveness, that at a primal level I think many men are attracted to (right d2?). It is a sad admission but I think good looking and very dumb and or crazy women have always appealed to many if not most men, in what I would call a predator and prey drive instinctual level.

As i write this I am laughing to myself as how much blow back from the political correct and Ooboo's it is likely to get but whatever, there is a definitely a relationship or some warped attraction men have to combination of 'dangerous' and 'dumb' combined with good looking, and no one mines that pile better than the GOP. I am sure i am missing some but I cannot even think of any on the Dem side that fit that profile and advance???

With Boebert I bet a double digit percentage of her voters voted for her because they'd "hit it"

MTG is like your friend's mom who everyone hates because she's a Karen although I admit she probably has some percentage of voters who would "hit it" as well.

The right says the same thing about AOC. Lauren has a point when she says this is sexist. There are plenty of guys in congress dumber than Lauren boebert.

Sure but the right sayign that about AOC is just an attempt at whataboutism. I am not an AOC fan but she is not at all dumb even if one does not agree with all her politics.

Boebert is dumb. MTG is dumb.

The only ones I would argue that are in Congress who are men and seem to be as dumb or dumber are also exclusively on the GOP side. I am sure there must be some on the left side but the only ones who come to mind are handful of GOP men.

I do not think it is sexist to call someone dumb at all. It would be sexist not to say, imo, simply because she is a woman. I mean you have to define Boeberts politics and her as a politician with some terms that describe her. 'Dumb', 'vacuous', 'ignorant', would seem to be the most applicable words. I am not saying that to be mean or because I don't agree with her politics. That, to me, is a fair reflection of what she has shown us.

The sexist part is the idea that they are singled out as dumb and only elected for looks when it's obvious equally dumb guys couldn't get elected in those positions. People on the right genuinely believe AOC is dumb as do people on the left with Lauren Boebert and MTG. They receive an inordinate amount of coverage for being dumb. For example when's the last time people talked about congressman billy long from missouri? he's dumber than all 3 of those people but no one talks about it.

Perhaps there are male more typical insults and females ones but i am not so sure 'dumb' is one of them. I think men in that spot do get called dumb when they say dumb things. "Flighty', bitchy' etc might be more sexist in their application, but i am not so sure about dumb.

Regardless of what people can convince themselves of and that some on the right 'truly believed Hilary would drop dead from frailty if elected' and some believed "Biden was senile while Trump was not', that is not the issue.

Yes, people can convince themselves of untruths, especially when it comes to politics and a desire to label an oppositional person.

The issue is that what you see the right label as dumb from AOC is things they disagree with that are thereby dumb ('oh you think being more socialist is good... that is dumb. Thus everything you say on the topic is dumb') and not that she is making objectively dumb statements. They take the 'very disagreement' as meaning the other person is not just wrong but dumb. While any human will occasionally say some 'dumb' things or things they might take back, someone like AOC who is one of the more quoted people on the planet and outspoken rarely says anything 'dumb'.

She may say a ton lots may disagree with but it is not dumb because one disagrees.

AOC has nothing approximating this type of stuff by Boebart.

AOC is being relentlessly attacked, because clever people realize that she could become very popular if she is not sufficiently demonized. She is a savvy politician, speaks on issues in a way that could resonate broadly and appeals to a type of voter conservatives struggle to recruit.

Of course, these kind of political hits aren’t new, but perhaps the sheer stupidity and vileness of it is (calls to violence, memes, veiled threats and demonization worthy of medieval bishops).

This isn’t an endorsement, more an analysis of a US politician from my perspective.

As for comparisons to Greene; that one believes in «Rothschild space lasers» and participated in a neo-Nazi convention. At this point I’m wondering if people need to see swastika-armbands before realization dawns, but then I realize that they would probably excuse those as well. I mean theae symbols were worn by many on 6th of January while people erected gallows and broke into congress, yet the RNC declared it “legitimate political discourse”.
