here's all you need to know OP:

https://news.yahoo.com/new-yahoo-new...152843610.html

half of fox news viewers polled said they believe Bill Gates will use covid vaccines to implant microchips in people to track their movements..

compared to just 28 percent of total adults, and 15% of msnbc viewers..

I haven't been following this thread.

Anyways, as I have said many many times CNN's main issue is bias by exclusion. If a fact doesn't fit their preferred narrative it doesn't make it into the story, especially when the story is hot. This includes their journalism and opinion stuff.

I forgot who provided the link (d2_e4?), but someone provided a link to different media and how biased they were, and even the website admitted this.

I think the main problem with CNN and the NYT is not how left wing biased they are per se, but how they used to be a balanced source of MSM, and shifted towards a left wing bias, and they are still regarded (incorrectly IMO) as balanced based on past history.

Pretty ludicrous to call NYT left wing. If anything they are centrist.

Unless of course you consider every media that has ever printed any story about Trump that is not pure praise of him as "left wing biased". Which to be fair seems to be the mantra for a lot of people.

Fox(one of their most popular talking heads literally talks to trump on the phone everyday lol) and OAN are out pounding the pavement delivering the 'real' truth.

Do yourself a little favor and go google image RT anchors and OAN anchors and report back they're like carbon copies

i agree that msnbc and bloomberg are generally not highly biased.

and i think the washington post and new york times are not biased in terms of presenting the news.......

op-ed page can be biased. i have no problem with that. wall street journal has peggy noonan who is ridiculously biased pro-conservative. i have no problem with that either.

people say the media is biased but most educated people i know think trump is insane, literally...... i'm sure it'll come out once trump is out of office that most republican senators hated him.

https://www.allsides.com/media-bias/media-bias-ratings

media bias ratings........ not sure who the rater is........

basically i find most mainline older-time media is perfectly fine when they write about the news. they generally report the same stuff, the same way. and these media ratings show that clearly ........ op-ed is different.

long story, but something that's quite funny is that CNN's polls are good for trump. fox news polls are bad for trump. probably a 4-5% gap in them...... i wonder if the mention of CNN/fox fires up the other side to reply..... that's one of the big problems with polls. response/participation rate is very low. so who is responding? and does it vary by polling service? time?... now that i think about it, do the polling firms mention CNN/Fox when they contact you

The media being biased and Trump being insane are two entirely different things.

yes, but the perception that the media is biased wasn't really much of an issue until trump became president........

people claim the media is biased reporting exactly what trump said. and then he denies he said it and claims media bias. and no, i don't mean "drinking bleach". i'd say trump didn't suggest that although his comments were still inappropriate.

sure, the media is a little liberal-biased but i think most places that actually report the news report it reasonably similarly

i talked about cnn and fox being basically talk radio on TV...... but i do have some concerns about the op/ed page bleeding into the news pages (a bit of a contradiction to an earlier statement) sometimes

It's funny that most people here are Trump haters while the topic is/was CNN.
And also that they use Fox as counterweight.
And also that they dont use Biden as counterweight.
But its all good.

Anyway....forget CNN...forget Trump...forget everything.

This is what it is/was all about:
an anchor ventilating his own personal opinion directly on the air...in a way in which he is speaking to Trump directly.
https://youtu.be/I1YojNLd1lA?t=525

I understand (now) that Fox might do the same...thats not the point.
The point is this could not happen ever in Europe...ever!

Ok, its all about ratings and growing/keeping a fanbase...i get it.
But...and this is the point: In which world can a journalist/anchor express his own personal opinion!? (on (inter) national tv!!!???

I mean: its not some talk show or something right!?
Anyway...even if it was a talk show...personally addressing the president! really?

Maybe thats normal for u guys, i dont know...but i have never seen something like that ever!

You might be interested in Matt Taibbi's Hate Inc. Large amounts of it are available online to read through his substack page and the parts that require a subscription I posted in the Luckbox vs Media thread.

i agreed that CNN doesn't report the news....... and CNN now only talks CV. in fact, most trump talk on CNN relates to CV. and they seldom talk economy/small business in relation to trump.

OP's (maybe you) specific question was CNN treatment of trump so why wouldn't we mention trump alot?

trump to biden idiocy is running about 25 to 1... and of course, biden apologizes often after he makes stupid comment. trump just inflames things more by saying he didn't say it and then news stations play the exact clip showing he said X "word for word"

bizarre that someone in europe loves trump.... but we live in free countries

basically every top newspaper in the world thinks trump is a supreme idiot and very dangerous.......... CNN is the same.

CNN does have republicans who defend trump on...

john kasitch is a prime example..... but he is reasonable. he concurs that trump should lay off twitter...

people like kelly-anne conway and sarah sanders come off as extreme idiots if they go on CNN. like monty python's "parrot not dead" sketch. they won't admit the obvious negatives and then stress the positives.

Newspapers don't think.

John Kasich doesn't defend Trump. He hates Trump.

Did you only start watching US news in 2016? I can assure you that late night shows on cable news networks have been full of this sort of thing for a long time. I'm not sure why you would have failed to notice, except when people started to criticize your preferred dude.

Claiming you wish trump would just lay off the twitter is pretty much the standard line. Most don't even mean it really imo. They love every second of it--it's just something to try to save a little face. I've heard some version of that same exact line from every single trump voter I know.

Yeah, I had that conversation with my dad, who said exactly that. I said "oh, so hiding the fascism would fix the problem of Trump being the face of fascism?" Apparently, something, something, tarriffs, Israel, Muslim ban, Wall, laying off Twitter good.

Only for those not paying attention. Sure Trump ran on the media being the "enemy of the people" (they are)--but the right-wing nature of the media has been observed long before Trump came around. My professor who was calling NPR National Petroleum Radio was doing so 20 years ago. And Manufacturing Consent was published in 1988. So there have been people who have long understood that the media is a tool of the ruling class.

He pretends to be "news" but in actual fact is a one man hate show. The guy is a sad pathetic excuse for a journalist with a visceral hatred for Donald Trump. The real category for his show is comedy imo.

That's what I watch it for. The amusement value is off the charts.

Lol...i have the same...but then for this whole network.

off-topic:
I mean: look how they handle the CV situation.
Its not a virus...its a deathly virus!!!...and so on and so on.
CNN just feasts on it, its like the best thing ever happening to them.
And that in combination with Trump...their agenda is filled up for months and months to come.

I mean: u can just taste they dont want it to end.
Every speaker is like: stay home, wear a mask, keep distance, work from home...etc etc.

Dunno man...state press is scary, free press is scary.
