they have released edited transcripts of FILMED conversations previously, so we'll see how this goes i guess..

if i were to guess, he's doing this to try and spike the football while trying to bury the whistle blower complaint that is about MULTIPLE incidents.

Schiff just said the whistleblower wants to testify, as soon as this week.

The call transcript release is going to be a fart in the wind as the details of the call are all but reported out already. It will be glommed on by all of the geniuses who proclaim, "see, he didn't explicitly say we're withholding $400 million until you investigate Biden!" CHECKMATE. WITCH HUNT!

Yeah this transcript is meaningless without the whistleblower report to determine what calls need to be reviewed. Plus lol at letting the administration transcribe them themselves.

Fortunately the whistleblower wants to testify in front of congress so as long as trump stays out of the way it could happen next week.

We will most likely get a transcript of trump leaving a voice mail.

The transcript will show the Ukraine president saying Trump is the greatest man the planet has ever seen and how grateful he is to be blessed by a conversation with the magnificent one.

And oddly compliment Trump on the size of his hands.

Trump probably didn’t say investigate and you get money or anything that explicit. It’s not his MO. He makes threats through innuendos out of instinct (and ignorance of details). He also has a tendency to avoid making concrete promises.

It’s part of what kept him (and a lot of mobsters before him) out of jail.

I put it in the Trump thread but here's Buzzfeed's summary of the transcript. It's not outright explicit, but it's a lot less implicit than you could say a Trump's normal scrambled brain conversations go. It's pretty clear he's wanting the Ukrainian's to investigate Biden personally and not some ambiguous just look into corruption thing.

I agree. He made it clear he’d like Ukraine to investigate Biden but, as Buzzfeed article says citing “senior Justice Department official”, nothing of value was actually offered, though anyone with half a brain would know Trump was implying it.

He’s pushing up right against the boundaries of plausible deniability. He left enough wiggle room for people with serious cognitive dissonance (see some posts in this thread) to see what they want to see.

link the transcript. Why would you link a article to tell you what it says, the phone call is a much better read as well. Who would choose to read a second source material, over a first hand source, and then choose to link it in a thread?

Very odd decisions.

I love that drumpf threw merkel under the bus for not helping out ukraine. ukraine thanked drumpf for his help against russia.

The transcript is linked in the Buzzfeed article and the transcript is a bit longer so I'll let someone do the bullet points for me.

Its not even close to something you can impeach someone for, and this is going to go awful for people who hate drumpf just like the past 3 years have.

Well, that leaves you less educated and a prime target for a website to gaslight you or use propaganda on... but go for it brother

I wonder when Trump gets on the phone with Vladimir asking him to hack some emails Trump can use to get himself out of this mess.

Is this sarcasm? I honestly can't tell. The transcript is so ****ing bad, and so much worse than people were expecting.

Only question at this point is how many Republicans vote to impeach in the Senate. My guess is at least 2, but less than 10.

What are you talking about dude? People said there was quid pro quo involved, where he threatened to withhold aid in return for doing this stuff. That wasn't in the call at all. It was a friendly conversation where 2 presidents want to work together to investigate corruption. Biden probably broke the law. Drumpf on the other hand did not. Show me where it is a high crime to ask a ally president to investigate potential corruption?

He starts out talking about how much the us does for the Ukraine then moves on to asking for a favor, and we know aid was being held up without adequate explanation. And it's certainly wrong to bypass the government agencies that should be investigating to use your personal attorney. Also lol at the prosecutor doing a "very good job" when basically everyone said he wasnt

Only a dunce or a redundant Republican fails to see the terrible pressure this puts on the Ukraine president to publicly cosign these Trump lies under the guise of an "investigation" Trump urges him to open on the matter.

You can't do that while specifically mentioning your supposed opposition. That is where he starts breaking the law. The fact that there was money involved is where treason starts to enter into it.

Except he did withhold funding and then release it the day after the story broke.

The threat was clearly implied in the conversation it did not need to be spelled out. The President of Ukraine later told people the implication was clear.

There is no appropriate route for trump asking what he asked for in that call.
